Cuvée des Seigneurs de Ribeaupierre Alsace Gewürztraminer 2013

Chilled and opened about an hour before dinner and allowed to gently come to temp. Served alongside charcoal grilled Thai sausage, sticky rice, coconut Thai curry, herb salad, shallot, lime, garlic, chiles. Straw color, off-dry and a perfect pairing with the first course. Lychee, honey, white flowers and great acid. This is the kind of synergy you dream for in a wine pairing. Drink now but I expect this will drink well for a long time. Quite possibly the best experience I’ve ever had with Gewurztraminer. — 23 days ago

Alsace Riesling 2021

Well - to get in the middle of MA decent Dry Riesling is hard. The cashier thought it ought to be always sweet. This must have been on the shelf for some time as the 24 is out. Classic and dependable and DRY. One can buy this blind. Lemon peel, hint of Kerosene. And apricot back palate. Good amount of acid with just a hint of depth indicating what this large well known widely distributed producer could do with more complex flavored grapes. — a month ago

Cuvée Frédéric Emile Alsace Riesling 2010

Mid gold in colour. Aromatics of yellow peach and honeyed notes. No traces of petro chemical. Medium plus intensity of stone fruit and mineral on the palate. Great depth. One of the top Rieslings in Alsace and showing it in spades. A beautiful Riesling and probably at its peak. Will stay on this plateau through the 2020’s. Interestingly about 25% went through malolactic so this is a different style from the usual Cuvée Frederic Emile. Very fresh for a 14 year old Riesling but remaining fleshy and M plus bodied. — 4 months ago

Alsace Gewürztraminer 2019

Classic for this producer. Dry 14.5%. Oily and viscous. Good acidity. Touch bitter, apricot, hint roses. Just for asian food - really. So fruity the perception is - it is sweet. — a month ago

Trimbach Pinot Gris Reserve 2014

This still shows great acidity and lovely mature aromas and flavors, even at 10 years old I’d guess this will continue to hold at this plateau, very fine Alsatian Pinot Gris!! — 2 months ago

“Great acidity” is a phrase we don’t often see used with Alsace PG. Nice!
