Another excellent vintage of this Sardinian clone of Grenache. Aromas of bright red fruit, dried violets, smoky oak and sweet baking spices. Flavors of juicy red cherry, raspberry and strawberry fruit, cola, tobacco and those baking spices. Long and lingering finish. Crisp, vibrant and refreshing acidity. This dark wine has a fruity nose of blackberry and plum, but there are some more savory notes as well. Black pepper, cigar box and black olive also come through. On the palate, licorice and plums are in the forefront of one of the fruitier flavor profiles I have tasted in Apulian Primitivos. The 16% alcohol is not as overpowering as I imagined it would be. The tannins are fairly forceful and the acidity is refreshing. This wine drinks really well and will pair nicely with a marbled rib eye steak. — 5 years ago

Light yellow color. Aromas of green orchard fruit, white flowers and citrus. Flavors of peaches, nectarines, tropical fruit, green apples, lemon curd, raw almonds and a very pleasing saline note. Beautiful note of minerality on the long finish. Medium-minus body (but still a bit of heft) and refreshing acidity. Lovely silky texture for such a crisp wine. Outstanding QPR.
