Medium ruby garnet terracotta rim, slightly wider than the Lynch. This is cooler and slightly sterner in character than the Lynch. More mineral , with ash , cedar and grafite in character , cassis , blackberry , dark cherry fruits. On the palate this is denser with more tannin , and balanced acidity . Grafite , cassis , herbal cedar , menthol touch . Long fresh but densely fruited, grafite finish . This is younger and more serious than the Lynch, more austere . Probably deserves a little time in decanter, though this is probably in the middle of its drinking window . Certainly no rush here , can go on well for the next 10 if not more years . This shows a really good mix of St Estephe austerity , seriousness and the ripeness and generosity of 1990. A great bottle , showing very well. — 8 months ago

Dark ruby in color with a wide reddish/ brick rim.
Beautiful nose of black currants, black plums, cooked cherries, cedar, licorice, light toast, Mediterranean spices, wet leaves, chocolates, tobacco leaf, earth, herbs and forest floor.
Medium plus in body with medium acidity.
Dry on the palate with black plums, cooked cherries, blueberries, light cedar, earth, herbs, chocolates, black pepper, light vegetables, black tea and pencil lead.
Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries.
This 21 year old Cabernet Sauvignon based blend from Saint Estephe is drinking beautifully now.
Still showing enough fruits with lots of chocolate and earth notes. Elegant and rich. Subdued, but interesting.
What are great surprise. I did not think this would drink so nicely at this point.
Good right out of the bottle, and better after 20 minutes of airtime, when tannins show up.
Showing good structure and balance. Complex on the palate and the nose.
Good by itself as a sipping wine, and paired very nicely with French cheeses.
A blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot with 5% Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.
13% alcohol by volume.
94 points.

Good vintage. Concentrated. Black currant and berry. Deep. 2 hours decanting is enough to show its powerful body. Château Calon-Ségur Le Marquis Saint Estephe 2015 @1600, wine plus -, 230524-230529 — 3 years ago
Smooth, dense and homogeneous mouth. Black fruits blackcurrant, blackberries, prunes, roasted mocha, vanilla, tobacco, undergrowth notes.
Bouche onctueuse, dense et homogène. Fruits noirs cassis,mûres, pruneaux, torréfiées moka, vanille, tabac, notes sous-bois. — 4 years ago
From a great looking bottle with a fill almost into the neck. Double decanted and left in the bottle for 5 hours before attacking it. Amber color. Good weight and haunting nose. Notes of old cedar, mocha, plums, cola, dark fruit, molasses and some sweet red cherry. Early on it’s all about the amazing nose. But with time the wine gains weight and you have a gorgeous old St Estephe in front of you. Still giving its all, and although the fruit is somewhat faded, this has complexity and structure that still drives the experience. And that nose is simply stunning. Great showing. — 4 years ago
Outstanding Saint Estephe Bordeaux vintage. Smooth and opened up nicely in decanter. Mellow and elegant. — 5 months ago
Solid Bordeau. Ready to drink. Vanilla, oak, cherries. Slightly underwhelming finish. — 7 months ago

Dry on the palate with nice complexity.
Showing red and blue fruits with light wood, tobacco leaf, vegetables, spices, peppercorn, chocolates, graphite and dark coffee.
This 9 year old Cabernet Sauvignon based blend from Saint Estephe still feels young and needs a few more years in the bottle to mature properly. Will continue to age nicely in the next 10 years.
Good by itself and will pair nicely with a big piece of steak.

Region: Saint-Estephe Grape Variety: Bordeaux Blend Red ABV: 13.5% . "Ruby red with violet reflections in colour, on the nose, aromas of plum and cassis with notes of spices. On the palate, dry, oaky, smokey, spicy, fruity, hint of tobacco, touch of leather and toast, delivers red fruits character, balanced, lengthy, soft, silky, layered, mature, earthy, persisted, rich, firm. It has a long finish." — 2 years ago
Costco winner. Got everyone talking about it. Anise and floral. Great mouthfeel. Defo stocking up — 3 years ago
Really a pretty nice second wine from a great Bordeaux house (Montrose). In general I prefer St Julien to St Estephe but this is very good. Decanted 2 hours which I recommend. Inky in the glass. Some good secondary notes on the nose. Fruit is very there, but more acid to keep it balanced than I expected. Nice with a prime ribeye on the grill. — 4 years ago
Wow, flavor bomb 💥 intense and complex. Tobacco, mocha, cedar, graphite, and dirt around a nice core of sweet and charred dark fruit, cassis, plum, and blackberry. Soft, round, and long. Yum!
Drank really well after a splash decant, faded a tad after a few hours. — 4 years ago
2019 vintage. Another great value from this Listrac estate. Dark red. Black fruit, less oaky compared to the 2018. Good concentration, a more extracted style compared to fellow Cru Bourgeois Supérieur Lilian Ladouys 2019 (Saint-Estephe) tasted alongside, but excellent value at 11(!) euros. — 5 years ago
Smells and tastes of tobacco and dried fruit. Classic left bank. — 5 months ago
Pretty color of dark ruby with a wide reddish rim.

Medium plus in body and elegant, with medium acidity.
Dry on the palate with blueberries, cooked cherries, black currants, plums, light cedar, earth, herbs, chocolates, spices and black pepper.
Medium plus on the finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries.
This is a delicious Cabernet Sauvignon based blend from Saint Estephe. Elegant, and still very fruit forward, for a 10 year old wine.
Will continue to age nicely in the next few years, but already drinking beautifully now. Nicely balanced with a nice mouthfeel.
Wine Enthusiasts 93 points. Wine Spectator 89 points.

2001 Lafon-Rochet
Saint Estephe
Inky black with cassis, black currant and blackberry. Black pepper and lavender with a whiff of smoke and graphite. Plum and vine charcoal give a softness to the tannin which is amazingly strong. Graphite shimmers through dark cocoa, cedar and pepper. Lovely and lively.

Oak, black currant. Mid body. A bit tannic, but drinkable. Château de Pez Saint Estephe Cabernet Franc Blend 2018 @7700, Enoteca, 210101-221229 — 3 years ago
Great value at $50.00 from K&L
Web notes,
The owner of this Chateau, Calon Segur takes some of it name Calon from the word 'calones' which were small transport skiffs that used to haul goods up and down the Gironde river. Back then boats were the best mode of conveyancing wine plus preferable to the reluctant donkey and other landlubbing transports. This fact is a big reason for this region's long successful trading history. Much to the dismay of more land locked wine making regions, Bordeaux enjoyed direct access to the water. Happily shipping great wines such as Chateau Capburn Gasqueton for centuries. As this red wine was transported away from the port, the owners would farewell it's strawberry and raspberry driven fruit flavours bound for distant thirsty lands. It's beautiful chalky tannins and fine oak would be missed as they were well on the way to our store's shelves, cellars and tummies. Hence raise a big cheers to the diminutive but very essential Calons! (And amazing value Bordeaux reds)
Chateau Capburn Gasqueton is situated in St Estephe, on the left bank of Bordeaux, France. Grapes have been grown on the property's grounds since the 12th century. However, the 18th century saw it's elevation into quality wine production when Nicolas-Alexandre, owner of Latour, Lafite and Mouton bought the Chateau along with Chateau Calon Segur. From 1894 to 2012 the Gasqueton family owned the Chateau - producing wines of great finesse and elegance. In 2013 the French insurance company Suravenir bought Chateau. Since then they have heavily invested in upgrading the estate whilst ensuring they preserve this historic and treasured wine producer. Its vineyard comprises of 62% Cabernet, 37% Merlot and a petite drop of 1% Petite Verdot! — 4 years ago

Drinking well right now, but with a lot of stuffing that will ease it into the future and very likely improve. Nose shows very intense cassis, a little mentholated. There’s also some of that classic Saint-Estephe cooling, wet-clay-infused earthy minerality. Intense and weighty, bit a little tightly-wound still in the mouth. Lots of tacky but soft tannin still embedded. Nice finish. Very nice value, as this property usually is. 9.1 for now but I think it will warrant a higher score in 5 years or so. — 5 months ago
