A wonderful surprise. My expectations had been low for this 63 year old wine but it is lovely. Rich fruit with a nicely balanced acid backbone to give it some lift and vibrancy. Power and balance; A rare combination especially at age. This 2004 drinks wonderfully now. Still fruit (plum) and flower notes ( classic rose petals) there. But also cedar, bouillon and asphalt. Love it!! — 2 years ago

At age 55 it’s a bit faded. A little tired. But has an elegance and a weightless quality to it. Fruit not vivid but very much alive. Well balanced. This Granbussia, according to the label, was from Bricco Colonello fruit. Lovely. — 6 months ago

Starting to think this might be my favourite Barolo...up there with wines from Aldo Conterno and Rinaldi. Deep, concentrated and brooding with lots of cherries and balsamico notes. This is not a light and acidic Barolo at all but big and bold. Loved it! — 2 years ago
