Good but not worth the tariff, at least here on MV. — 5 years ago
Definitely not the MV! Decent nose followed by very wooden finish - almost like it’s over the hill - vinegary - or maybe the fruit’s dead — 6 years ago
Last week was a combo of 4th Friday and Open That Bottle Night on back to back nights. Needless to say, the lineup between both days was full of heavy hitters, so I’m only posting standout bottles.
Technically a MV blend. Not dissimilar to Krug in style...warm profile with baked fruits and some savory versus sweetness battle towards the finish. It has that ginger note I always associate with Krug, as well as toffee and sea salt. Honeyed stone fruits, limestone, good acidic backbone with warm baked bread consistent throughout. Delicious stuff. Thanks @joe leatherwood . — 6 years ago
Snagged this on an impromptu visit to Epoch several months ago. I remember it being a favorite with its healthy dollop of Mourvedre yet considerably tight, this is much more open. Tannins still run a little coarse and oak heavy, but that beautiful black and blue fruit is hitting its stride. There’s a lot of exotic and sweet spice notes balanced by earthier notes of sage brush, pine forest, volcanic rocks. It carries weight yet some nice lift too given how much ballast is here. Not a style I reach for often but enjoying this 49 GR 34 MV 17 SY — 8 years ago
This is very interesting but really wants some food to make it shine. An educational wine that we had with a fennel salad with radicchio and the combination of bitter and slight perfume notes was quite intriguing. — 3 years ago
Raj bottle. Drinkable and not overpowering. Mv liked more than Sv — 5 years ago
Stunning MV bottle from the 50s. Still going— nose of varnish, orange rinds, clove; palate light in mouth but very full on palate. 12.5%. Hats off. — 6 years ago
Unusual cuvee ten years in concrete vats (MV as well?)— still very fresh. Loads of wood, apparently russian oak. Disorienting match of freshness and wood prominence. Will be interesting to follow. — 6 years ago
Crushable and tangy, light and flinty — 3 years ago
2020 vintage. MV Shiraz. MV stands for both Mc Laren Vale and Multiple Vineyards, as this is a 100% Shiraz blend from 4 of the 6 biodynamically farmed Paxton estates. All parcels were vinified seperately, aged in French oak and blended prior to bottling. Intense perfume of blackberries and subtle spices with a hint of eucalyptus. Fresh, energetic and balanced with very good spicy length. Abv. 14%. — 5 years ago
Great small vineyard with family and friends in Edgartown MV — 6 years ago
This is superb. Ponzi wine, labelled for Jean Georges (after his wife).
Will cellar for a while. — 8 years ago

Incredible value, punching well above its weight class. Classic CNDP character and texture, true to form and class. There’s a deal of finesse here not often seen at this price point. To me another example of Mourvedre’s place in CNDP’s future regarding climate change. Nose is ripe and confitured blackberry, roasted black plum, Provençal herbs, mocha, hot stones. Palate confirms nose; plump black fruit framed by stony minerality, garrigue, and white pepper. Underlying savory elements of meat and smoke. Tannins are assertive yet very fine, again very stoney in character. Acid is fresh, almost has a Gigondas or elevated character to it. Pure class with plenty if soul. Will develop quite well but so delicious right now. 70 GR 30 MV — 8 years ago

Finally lost my Heitz MV virginity. One word, wow. The mint-eucalyptus was there on the nose. A very powerful wine that smelled powerful and tasted powerful. Besides the mint , hints of earth & cigar notes but clearly in the background. I was having a hard time trying to grasp how youthful and balanced the wine was on the palate. I found the fruit was on the darker side with lingering tannins. I left this in the decanter for three days. The nose really never diminished, the palate grudgingly. If I had to nitpick I felt it was lacking some of the complexity that I would have expected at this stage. — 3 years ago
