Vigneto Arborina Barolo Nebbiolo 2018

Fruit sourced from three young, cool vineyards, Arborina and Gattera in La Morra and Castelletto in Monforte d'Alba, Ruby red with a bouquet of dark fruit, spices, leather and licorice. On the palate flavors of sour black cherry and plum with notes of pepper, smoky tobacco, vanilla and oak. Long finish, nice balance with fine drying tannins, savory edges, ending with earthy mineral notes. Good now! — 4 months ago

Cordero di Montezemolo

Langhe Arneis 2021

2021 vintage.
100 % Arneis grapes from vineyards in La Morra, Alba, Guarene and Castagnito in Piedmont.
Stainless steel ferment with several months resting on the lees.
Pale straw yellow in colour.
Acacia and yellow flowers with dried Chamomile, green apple, ripe peach and crushed stone.
A slightly bitter but fresh finish makes this wine perfect for Vitello Tonnato or whole grilled fish on the BBQ.

Elegant wine from La Morra with taste of raspberries, dried cherries, black tea.
Ripe but not the greatest Barolo I had.

Brunate Barolo Nebbiolo 2011

Mid crimson. The reasonably pale colour belies the power on the palate of this Barolo (La Morra). An earthy tarry note - a touch of mint. Medium to full bodied palate finishing with fine dry persistent tannins. I will be interested to see how my remaining 2 bottles will turn out. Should confidentally see out the 2020’s. — 5 months ago

@Bob McDonald, we drank a couple of these Marcarini single cru Barolos in 2018 (they were both 1978s purchased on release by me), and they were outstanding, nowhere near past it.

Bricco Delle Viole Barolo Nebbiolo 2005

Finally a 2006 Barolo for me which is almost ‘a point’. A lot of sweet berries, round and rich with some tannins in the background. roasted herbs, floral and ‘La Morra licorice’. Very elegant wine now and fantastic balance overall. Nice! — 2 years ago
