Finally a 2006 Barolo for me which is almost ‘a point’. A lot of sweet berries, round and rich with some tannins in the background. roasted herbs, floral and ‘La Morra licorice’. Very elegant wine now and fantastic balance overall. Nice! — 4 years ago

Stainless steel fermented at low temperatures and rests on fine lees through winter before bottling.
Bright straw yellow in colour.
Fragrant aromatics of dried Chamomile, Acacia flowers and almonds.
In the mouth…stone fruit, white peach, herbs and Asian pear.

Anyone who has written off 2017 across the board is short sighted. Great winemakers make great wine in difficult vintages.

Nose is classic. Sweet tobacco. Really perfumed. Wow. Wow wow wow. So elegant. Almost a wine of yesteryear.

As this opens you get cherry liquor. Intense perfume.

Palate has amazing texture. Very Silky. Sweet cherries. A very light cherry liquor. Palate staining. Very elegant. Only 14.5% and perfectly integrated. Very good freshness.

Almost like gods cherry water lingering on the finish. Cherry licorice.

Just killing it out of the gate. Some grippy tanins. Should age quite nicely.

The level of pristine ness in this wine is off the charts.

Could be better than a 9.5 in 5 years. It’s hard to say how this will process. But the bedrock of the balance elegance and structure is there.

Whoop. As this opens it’s getting that 9.6+ heavenly perfume. It is passing the hump of delicious into the realm of profound. Psychotic lsd made from cherries and spice. My god. 9.6 is the floor.

Ok nose is almost truffly at 1 hour. Sick. Now a 9.7.

Something in this wine that is just a fiber optic cable to the wine geek pleasure zone. Motherfucker hacked my brain.

Finish is gods juice. So savory and long and juicy. Wow. Liquid pleasure.

Pardon my French. This is the Fucking shit. The fucking shit!!! Almost tears of joy drinking this.

A bit more advanced than expected, but this shows La Morra’s aromatics and elegance quite well.

The perfumed nose shows red cherry, strawberry, rose petal, cinnamon, forest floor, and hint of balsamic. Medium body. The palate is more savory than the juicy nose suggests. Cool acidity and gentle tannins. — 4 months ago

This wine pours a somewhat clear ruby red. It has a nice nose. The fruit is restrained. And after it’s been open for a little bit, the tannins really come through. This is an excellent wine that I got at Costco for $48. I would definitely re-buy it. Fruit sourced from three young, cool vineyards, Arborina and Gattera in La Morra and Castelletto in Monforte d'Alba, Ruby red with a bouquet of dark fruit, spices, leather and licorice. On the palate flavors of sour black cherry and plum with notes of pepper, smoky tobacco, vanilla and oak. Ive tried multiple vintages from this producer and I enjoy his style...from Capalot cru, 2012 is shaping up perfectly. From La Morra, Super floral, red tart cherries, black tea, slight leather, tannin and acid high. The mix of big ole barrel and 1/3 new french oak barriques just brings it to whole amazing level.. seek out this producer if you can... — 6 years ago
