Beautiful smokey nose with rose flourish, mega tar, tobacco, spices and some hints of framing high quality oak. Deep perfume. As it airs the florals get next level. Palate is so giving as this is 17. Supple, succulent and slippery. Superb balance and mega juiciness. Wow has this improved since last year. Stunning length and balance. Seriously great wine. Really fine pearly tannins and such sweetness but finished super mineral and sappy. This has terrific cut and clarity. Last time I tasted was not this aristocratic. 9.6 for now but likely will go up.
As this airs the tannins show themselves but they are sweet, velvety and managed very well.

Very very pretty nose. So elegant and airy. Layered. Unreal vivid cherries. Like in 3D. So beautiful. Unreal tar, flowers and roses. But there is general flower aroma and then awesome roses. Smokey and just SO perfumed. A nose to die for and it’s a 9.5 atoms out of the gates. Just insane. This is what one wants. Palate is round and so juicy. Wow. What fruit. Such an intense fruit squeeze and just amazing tannins. They are so so so elegant and ripe. They just perfectly integrate with all the other components. What a wine. Not a hair out of place. So so well made. I think Cesare is the Italian Zeireisen. He cannot miss. Best 2017 Barolo I’ve had and it’s not close. So haunting. This is like old school Volnay. What texture. So airy and rich but so fresh! This is the stuff. The sweetness starting to come in. This is so bright and vibrant. Wow. Stunning balance and purity. This will only gain with air.
It has gained. More inner mouth aromas, more purity, more length and now the mine skirt really has come out. Spectacular length. This is verging on a 9.6. So complex now. Just brilliant. The wine has an energy combined with a serenity that just slays you.

Palate has amazing texture. Very Silky. Sweet cherries. A very light cherry liquor. Palate staining. Very elegant. Only 14.5% and perfectly integrated. Very good freshness.
Almost like gods cherry water lingering on the finish. Cherry licorice.
Just killing it out of the gate. Some grippy tanins. Should age quite nicely.
The level of pristine ness in this wine is off the charts.
Could be better than a 9.5 in 5 years. It’s hard to say how this will process. But the bedrock of the balance elegance and structure is there.
Whoop. As this opens it’s getting that 9.6+ heavenly perfume. It is passing the hump of delicious into the realm of profound. Psychotic lsd made from cherries and spice. My god. 9.6 is the floor.
Ok nose is almost truffly at 1 hour. Sick. Now a 9.7.
Something in this wine that is just a fiber optic cable to the wine geek pleasure zone. Motherfucker hacked my brain.
Finish is gods juice. So savory and long and juicy. Wow. Liquid pleasure.
