This wine pours a clear rust red. It has aromas of leather on the nose. It has flavors of dried fruit that are restrained a bit. Strong structured tannins were present which I think is a trade mark. We decanted the wine for about 90 minutes first. It went very well with the grass fed ribeyes and lobster we cooked for my son-in-law’s birthday. That said, I was expecting more. I really thought it would blow me away and it didn’t. It was good, just not great. I don’t think it was too expensive at Costco. Warm cherry with cinnamon, tobacco leaf, licorice root extract, smoke, pine nettle, cocoa, pipe tobacco, dark violets, rose petal. Medium mouthfeel shows the tar and black cherry heart and expressive blood orange, cinnamon, dried cranberry, expansive black currant and smoldering earth. Holiday spices. A tremendous offering!

Intense nose of dark fruit, fresh roses, black licorice, tar with some balsamic. Sweet cherries with medium tannins. Polished and nicely integrated.
