Nose has few day old lemon peel, wet river rocks, lightly oxidized apple, lanolin and beeswax.
Palate has dehydrated pear & apple slices, wet sandstone, neutral oak, somewhat dry on the finish makes for a unique St. Aubin experience.
I don't think this is past enjoyment, but might be on the down side of middle age. So much minerality on the palate, almost a fruitless wine. I'll be interested to see this bottle in a couple more years, luckily still a few bottles in the cellar. — 14 days ago
30+ minute decant was perfect. Definitely right in the drinking window. Purple color. Awesome nose filled with slate, graphite, and earth. Wine has medium depth with black cherries and all the factors found in the nose. Not super complex, but good QPR. Medium finish. — a day ago
Sylvain really killed the 2018’s. Big, ripe and rich nose, yellow fruits and waxey. Palate is ripe and rich but with lovely freshness and appealing bitterness. Juicy and lively with lovely energy, delineation and admirable purity. Good length. Superb depth on the nose after air. Really pure. Amazing freshness, concentration and depth. Good sap — 5 days ago
A well reviewed vintage after several poor years.
1.5 hour decant (some chunky sediment). A thrilling dark ruby red with little bricking. On the nose: green veggie, eucalyptus, earth, smoke, plum, and a little of that aged Bordeaux sweetness thrown in there too. Taste: leather, cedar, little raspberry, and gravel. Low acidity, a medium graphite finish with some slightly bitter tannins.
Lean and mean....where's the elegance and character???..........drink em if you got em, don't think more age will help. Careful with Bordeaux 95....from my experience, don't believe some have aged well. My last 95 is a Margaux and I am going to pop in a hurry. — 6 days ago
I close my eyes, take a sip and am back on the Côte d’Azur — 43 minutes ago
It has been a little while since we have had Olivier’s 2014. It’s our last bottle of three and the honey notes have definitely deepened.
The nose shows; sweet & sour lemons, green & golden apple, lime zest-candy, ripe pineapple, green melon, apricots, white peach, gentle, warm, white spice, beautiful chalkiness, caramel, vanillin, honey, candle wax notes, sea spray-fossils, understated limestone & volcanic minerals, fruit blossoms, yellow flowers/lilies, spring flowers, jasmine with mixed flower greens.
The body is full, thick & slightly waxy. Nice viscosity. sweet & sour lemons, green & golden apple, lime zest-candy, overripe pineapple, green melon, apricots, white peach, grapefruit w/ a touch of sugar, gentle, warm, white spice, beautiful, powdery, chalkiness, caramel, vanillin, honey, candle wax notes, light butter & cream quality, fresh herbaceousiness, sea spray-fossils, understated limestone & grainy, grey, volcanic minerals, light sulphur/flintiness, fruit blossoms, yellow flowers/lilies, spring flowers, jasmine with mixed flower greens. The acidity is round/phat...really well done. The nice finish glides gently with elegance, good balance, just hits the low end of rich & lush and depositing soft, powdery minerals as it long sets.

Rocking nose, red berries, game, smoked meat, olive, so so so St. Jo. Loads of granite and florals. Smells great. Gorgeous combo of florals and minerality. Palate is pure and lush. But structured, sappy and deep. Terrific grip. This is particularly showing well. Really refined and deep. Elegant and structured and it will age. Sappy clinging blackberry and black cherry fruit. Better in 3 years but approachable today if you like some grip. — 10 days ago
This is what got me hooked on Rose again. Such a light fresh dry wine. Tastes like citrus, roses and summer. When I first had it it was $10 a glass out of snooty restaurant. Found it on the $10 and under rack at the liquor store. Score! — 8 days ago
