Young but stunning. Nose is slightly woody (still!) with unreal deep black cherry fruit and mega violets. Glorious spice and minerals. Charcoal, char, and also some cocoa. The wood is sweet and complementary. But man it takes years to shed. Palate has much less if any wood and lovely sweetness, freshness and also almost a softened. Explosive fruit, our toy and density, but elegant and serene. So long and delicate but really needs 5 years. — a month ago
I don’t recall why I bought this several years ago, but Emma finished her CFA exam and we needed to celebrate and this was the only champagne we had in the house. She was worth it and it was worth it! — 16 days ago
Nose is a bit weak. Fruity with prominent cherry taste. Well balanced and goes down smooth. Finish is reasonable.
Overall nothing wrong with it but just ok. $20 — 8 days ago
Let you in on a little secret (now that it’s too late). This Cuvee’ is the best growers champagne you’ll find for about $35 when it goes on sale once a year at Whole Foods. Unfortunately I heard 2020 was the last year they’d be allocated their private label.
Pours a glint of rose fold. Light aromatics - white flowers and white cherries and lemon. Concentrated mouth - structure, rich, complete with strawberry, raspberry, bing cherry. — 25 days ago
Spirit a bit disjointed initially, but with some nice Colston-Bassett Stilton to balance the spirit, Graham sweetness is finally starting to show, this is actually far better than initial impressions it was kinda dry and unbalanced, solid Porto!! — 13 days ago
Light on the nose. Smooth at first then a long strong finish. — 15 hours ago
Lightly spicy aftertaste, berries, not overly jammy. Would go well with bbq — 7 days ago

Okay, here we go! 13 is amazing in Burgstadt for Pinot. Gorgeous nose, wow. Stunning violets. Just sick sick violets. So expansive, vivid and clean. Unreal spice and has insane breadth. Just so so so good. Not sure when I had last but wow has it improved. Wow. This is some nose. Endless and expansive. 9:5. Wow. What purity, elegance sweetness and depth. A knockout. So balanced and deep. Complex, juicy and ethereal. This is the best non Hundsruck Spätburgunder I’ve ever had from Walter. It’s so sensual and seductive while being seductive, mineral and complex. A staggering bottle. — 10 days ago
