Lush and energetic. Wonderful mushroom hints. Needs air to open but when it does. Watch out. Sweet wood. Super sweet fruit. Great.

Nose has burning vines, charred black cherry, wet garden soil, decaying leaves and cooled bacon.
Palate has sweet & tart cherries, dried black currant, spicy tannins with granite-like minerality.
Bottled under Stelvin closure, opened for slow oxidation 6H, then decanted 2H, more time appreciated.

Awesome nose. Ash, bunt tree bark, ripe and secondary berry fruit. Floral. Dampen and dried leaves, so feral, loads of earthy sweetness. So good. Juicy, elegant and structured with wonderful purity as freshness. Even a bit tight and coiled up. Needs 45 minutes to an hour.

Great nose. Big leafy, cherry, opulent, earthy, wet earth, so much spicey complexity. Chestnut. Almost smells like a Barolo. Palate is high acid and very juicy with terrific balance and very pure. Like any Walter wine it needs an hour but wow is it all there. Supple, wispy tannins. Huge finish. So precise. Very gamey and very mineral. So savory. What a wow like texture.

My brother chooses well! Great German Pinot. Really close to perfect Pinot for my liking. Savoury, mineral, balance with good structure. nice earthy fungus and cherry high notes.

Opened earlier. The sushi wasn’t delivered, long story, but I’m drinking this now. It’s a screw top, so I just cracked it a couple of hours ago and let it sit. It’s ruby with brick at the edges, like a nebbiolo. Very fragrant in the glass, dried cherries and flowers, something savory and meaty, not smoke so much as a roasted or barbecued savoriness. Very precise violets start coming out. Maybe there’s some mint and there’s spice on the finish. The fruit is not super sweet anymore, but matured. Dried cherries and plum, some fig. Very fine tannins and good smooth minerality. Good wine. Some bitterness on the finish, cherry pit and/or wood, which I find pleasant. Integrated and good.
Left some overnight. The fruit compresses and gets sweet, like soaking dried cherries in port. Roses start to come out, and tons of slate like minerals, really clean like after rain. Give this some serious air
