I have been meaning to try this bubbly for awhile! No specialty wine stores in Avon IN. I did pick this up at a liquor store; only one on the shelf. Yes a 2011 for $ 22.99! Does that seem right? @Severn Goodwin ? Present pear, baked golden apples, brioche, mild acidity and honeycomb! — 23 days ago
A medium-bodied Cannonou di Sardegna is this “I Fiori” by Pale. For a Grenache it is on the light side, but refined, with strawberry and raspberry flavours and light soft tannines. Offers good value for money! — 2 days ago
Nose has over-ripe/sweet pineapple, lanolin, fresh pineapple, melted candle wax, clean cotton tee shirt and faint white pepper.
Palate has dried pineapple, dried lime peel, tangerine peel, spicy oak, waxy yellow apple peel, hint of (citrus) sweetness on the long/complex finish. Wow. Decanted 4H.
Bought at the winery in 2008, was looking to hold the bottle at least this long, maybe another 5Y would still be acceptable in proper storage. A perfect, clean cork pull, no seepage or saturation at all. — 18 days ago
Very nice aged Rioja. Probably plenty more years in this but drinking very nicely now. Nose is dark fruit, vanilla, cedar and light licorice. In the glass, vibrant with violet edges, very fresh. Palate is a blend of dark fruit, cherry, vanilla and leather, medium tannins and a lovely long sour candy finish. Not a regular choice for me but this was really good. — a month ago
October 24, 2020. Dinner w/ Jack D, he brought the wine. 85% Sangiovese, 15% Malvasia Nero. Decant as it opens up beautifully. Black cherry & herbs. Beautiful aroma. Smooth. — 3 days ago
