Characteristic #sancerre - leans more gooseberry & stone fruit with less prominent grassy aromas. Creamy texture on palate - delicious wine. — 2 years ago
So, just arrived in Australia this morning for some wine exploring, and my wife wanted a wine we could sip, so here we are drinking Kiwi Sauvignon Blanc. As fine as the “regular” Greywacke SB is, this wine seems another level up, gooseberry aromas and flavors, really complex, actually reminds me of the early Cloudy Bay SBs we drank a fair amount of after visiting the Cloudy Bay winery back in 1994. — 6 months ago
New grape for me tonight. This one was 60% colombard with 40% sauv blanc. Enjoyed this one. The Colombard seemed to tone down the limey/grassy/minerality I find with most sauv blancs. Knew it was a sauv blanc, but want so “in your face”. I would look for this one again in a heartbeat. Was a 2 1/2 hr drive to the store where we bought this first one! But will look and see if I can get it closer. Was a softer, more subtle sauv blanc character. Had the grassy/ limey quality with hints of tropical fruits. Fantastic siping wine. — 9 months ago
Not a huge fan of Sauvignon Blanc, but this is the opposite of chemically and gooseberry SBs. Fine, hint of citrus (not overpowering on the gooseberry) — 2 years ago
Fresh gooseberry, tropical, passion fruit. Joy :) — 6 months ago
Impressive NZ SB: you have to like this in your face style: huge blast of grapefruit & gooseberry, grassy herbal notes, stones & minerals, it is intense. Not too acidic or angular on palate - particularly if you let it warm up just a bit, fruit turns smoother & more tropical, but still that wall of grapefruit & gooseberry. Lingering dry finish resonates — 7 months ago
Light straw color with green highlights. Intense aromas of passion fruit and grapefruit. The pallet is very fruit forward with gooseberry, grapefruit and lemon. Bit of a minerally finish. Crisp acidity. Refreshing. Pretty good (typical) NZ Sauvignon Blanc. — 2 years ago
