Geodesy Eola Springs Willamette Valley Pinot Noir

Domaine Drouhin

RoseRock Pinot Noir 2016

Double decanted two night prior. The 2016 Rose Rock pours a pale ruby color with no staining of the tears. On the nose, effusive fresh strawberry, red flowers and mint. Medium structure. Unmistakably New World with a heavy dose of inspiration from Burgundy and while this has plenty of substance, it’s all about the fruit and super clean; almost cutesy, very demure. Balanced. Drink now but should drink well through 2031. — 8 days ago

I tend to agree with you but it’s technically well made. Not really my style

Le Puits Sec Eola-Amity Hills Pinot Noir

This has aged well, would hold it’s own with a 1er Burg. Fruit is there but dry and tart, spicy and earthy. Wish I had more. — a month ago

La Source Seven Springs Pinot Noir 2019

Delectable Wine
9.4

A smoky blend of crushed raspberries, sage, cola and crushed stones creates a seductive bouquet as the 2019 Pinot Noir La Source comes to life in the glass. This is soft yet lifted in feel, with tart red and blue fruits that swirl throughout as violet inner florals resonate toward the close. The 2019 finishes perfumed and long with an air of lavender and a tart blackberry twang that lingers over a bed of well-rounded tannins. This is the first vintage in which Sashi Moorman was entirely happy with the structural balance achieved in the Pinot Noir La Source. I must admit, it's a compelling wine. Jessie James Vineyard Pinot Noir 2021

Fell out of habit of delectable-ing but this terroir driven Willamette Pinot reminded me to keep documenting the yummmz! Clay, herbs, luxardo cherry (without the syrupy sweet). — 12 days ago

Rose Rock

Drouhin Eola-Amity Hills Pinot Noir 2022

Dark garnet color. Complex aromas of lavender, violets, rose petals, red cherries and cinnamon. Red, blue and black berry fruit flavors with touches of baking spices, orange zest and fresh basil. Beautiful earthy note on the long finish. Medium bodied with soft tannins tannins and nicely balanced acidity. Delicate but bold at the same time. Excellent! — a month ago

Tongue 'N Cheek Pinot Noir 2019

Had higher hopes for this somm turned wine maker project. The fruit felt faint and the acid a bit over the top. Overall good wine. — 20 days ago

A very enjoyable off the shelf back vintage here. Nothing terribly complex, but balance point has held up wonderfully after a decade in the bottle. — 3 months ago

Æolian Eola - Amity Hills Estate Pinot Noir 2022

Delectable Wine
9.4

The 2022 Pinot Noir Aeolian is darkly floral, as a mix of dried violets, lavender and incense forms an enticing bouquet. This is soothingly round and supple, showing a lick of salty minerality up front that perfectly offsets its ripe wild berry fruits. The 2022 leaves the palate stained in primary concentration, with a bitter blackberry tinge and edgy tannins that make for a lovely punctuation to the experience. The Aeolian hails from vines planted in 2001 at 700 feet in the higher elevations of Bethel Heights. (Eric Guido, Vinous, August 2024)
