Classic Châteauneuf-du-Pape nose of chocolate over berries with some pepper and garrigue. Bold, juicy, milk chocolate with enough acid to keep things fresh. A little boozy and young tannins. Not the most complex but what it does, it does very well. Yummy. — 9 days ago
Apricot, vanilla, some white flowers too. A usual condrieu nose with a barrel twist. I like it. The palate is very wide and long but goes on step by step. There width and a silky, almost velvety mouthfeel. There is apricot all along, the mouthfeel stays on for a long while and overcomes the fruit, some much so that the structure lingers longer. It came along with home made foie gras (half cooked with cognac) and it was a very nice pairing. Merry Christmas to all of you, wine lovers! — a month ago
Dried red fruits and some spiciness in the palate. Not a long finish. Probably a little past its prime but pleasant for Sunday afternoon and pairing well with Stilton. — 8 hours ago
Vieux Donjon 2010
— 24 days ago
Superb nose with licorice, blackberry, garrigue, other red fruits. This is very intense and inviting. The palate shows a very nice strong acid drive and a great width, with matter on the sides. Licorice and blackberry play back to back notes all along. The mouthfeel is soft, until mid palate where some dusty tannins spice things up a notch. Very long finish with that tannic grain, licorice and blackberry. I'm probably biased as this is my uncle's wine (he bought shares in the vineyard 2 years ago) but this is one of the best grenache blend I've had. More Maury sec please!
@Delectable Wine it's a Maury sec AOC — 25 days ago
Beautifully transparent, ruby hue. Upon opening this is tight, and animal scented. Then it blossoms to reveal violet accented florals, candied red fruit, ginger, gojiberry and more. Grapey with persistent tannins. Not at all too sweet or ripe. This has a rustic balance that’s unique to Vieux Telegraphe and is one of the things I really love about the domaine. — a month ago
