Really great cooperage work here, nicely integrated and compliments the wine well without showing itself too much. Imprint of the vintage evident in the lift and freshness coupled with a nice compact palate of fruit and earth. I think ‘16 will age forever. Crushed strawberries and raspberries, huge notes of crushed granite and iron, intensely so. Spices and forest round it out. Beautiful wine — 3 years ago

Age coming forward, sweet tobacco, fresh leather, cedar and with cooked blackberry and red cherry. Words can't do it justice it's almost singing from the glass with still a nice black pepper note and a wonderful earthy mushroom note.

The tannins have really mellowed out. Still a fantastic acidity and all working in balance on the palate all those flavours coming through with a roasted meat that compliments well. An almost mint fresh feel with its lengthy finish.

The wine is in its prime and goes down so well.

The hype of aged wine can be justified when it's like this. A real treat and superb right now, I would be scared to let this go much further. — 3 years ago

Paired with organic sirloin (a little too gamey IMO) but the wine actually compliments well and makes up for it. Cherry, licorice, and smoke with a touch of old world acidity. Really dig this wine! Not your typical Rioja. — 4 years ago
