Château Moulin De Brion

Château Haut-Brion

Premier Grand Cru Classé Graves Red Bordeaux Blend 2010

First growth Bordeaux with Christmas Dinner! (Thanks to my wonderful Son-in-Law). Blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (57%), Merlot (23%) and Cabernet Franc (20%). Dark Ruby color with a slight rust colored rim. Extremely savory on both the nose and palate. Aromas of charcoal, graphite, unsweetened cocoa and black cherry. Flavors of tobacco, bakers chocolate, roasted herbs and a bit of black berry/cherry fruit. Very long and oaky/earthy finish. Well structured, full bodied and very complex. Soft tannins. Quite a treat! Thanks so much, Petey! — 2 days ago

Château La Mission Haut-Brion

Graves Red Bordeaux Blend 1976

A weaker vintage for LMHB that showed red & black fruit with lots of menthol & spice but lacked the character & finish of a great older vintage — 2 months ago

Château La Mission Haut-Brion

La Chapelle de la Mission Haut-Brion Pessac-Léognan Red Bordeaux Blend 2016

Quite bright medium ruby , ruby pink rim . Quite elegant and reserved , some red cherry, violet , summer fruits , scorched earth , touch of spice . On the palate quite elegant also , summer fruits, blackberry , blackcurrant , red plum . Good balanced acidity , herbal touches on the medium length , saline tinged finish . Quite polished but still grippy tannins . This is showing well , especially with food , but has a relatively long future , from now and over the next 5-10 years. A very successful second wine . — 9 days ago

Château Les Carmes Haut-Brion

Pessac-Léognan Red Bordeaux Blend 2018

Blend of 37% Cabernet Franc, 34% Cabernet Sauvignon and 29% Merlot, aged in 80% new French oak, deep Ruby color, purple edges, with aromas of dark fruits, floral spice and smoky cedar notes. On the palate flavors of blackberry, plum and black currants with cacao, tobacco, licorice and smoky spice. Fine grainy tannins, well balanced on long finish, ending with fruit, cedar, smoke and earthy mineral character. Very nice, but needs a few more years of bottle age to really enjoy, and will last for several decades! — a month ago

Château Haut-Brion

Le Clarence de Haut-Brion Pessac-Léognan Red Bordeaux Blend 2016

Medium ruby pink rim, quite thin rim. More dense and darker on the nose than the Chapelle . Dark plum , blackberry , dark cherry , touch of spice again , quite dense , with a touch of spice on the medium length finish . Lacks the elegance of the Chapelle , a bit more tannic and bigger boned , less fresh perhaps , but a touch more mineral also . Needs more time , another 3-5 years and will show well for a further 5 -8. Again successful but the La Chapelle just comes out in front , though this will be longer lived . — 9 days ago

Pessac-Léognan Red Bordeaux Blend 1998

1998 vintage. From Magnum. Light-medium body. Pleasantly herbal front palate. Excellent length of finish. Not falling out of the race anytime soon. 12.11.24. — 15 days ago

Pessac Leognan one of the standout regions in what was otherwise a difficult vintage in Bordeaux.
