Mon dieu. Although tested after midnight on midsummer’s eve alongside a Sauterne, this wine is so fresh and vibrant, deep dark dried fruits spiced up with some younger unripe ones, and honey, wax, and marmelade.

My favorite wine. Flavors echoed the apple cider poached pears.

Earthy (wet/ozone post thunderstorm forest floor, button mushroom), burnt caramel, baked pear and apple, sage, agave, wild acid.

Lovely desert wine with vinegar pie at husk. So light and fresh at 37 years of age.

Word has gotten around about how obsessed I am with this wine/vintage, so the bev director surprised me with a dessert pour. Same wine, same vintage, but different bottle & a week and a half later. Still a mind blowing wine, though this encounter (bottle had been open a bit longer) leaned more into the crème brûlée, toffee characteristics with less perceptible fresh fruit. Still one of my candidates for best of 2022…

Wow, just wow.

Imagine the platonic ideal of an apricot and then imagine something even better. That’s this wine. The fresh acidity, the lightness, the vibrancy, depth of flavor—pure magic.

Excellent off dry / dessert chenin blanc from the Loire from our birth year which is always fun (especially for such a tough year). Amber in the glass, very caramel / honey on the nose. Viscous and quite full. Could use a spot more acid but still a nice finish. Delicious.
