Honestly, I forgot I had this and was worried I was 10 years too late with it. But I tell you what… there is life left in this bottle! Dark fruit, mostly gone but still there. Chocolate and leather too. Then come raisins. Bone dry, smooth but not silky, still some black tea tannins and big structure. Yes, it’s past prime (at 28 years old, I was out of my prime too!) but wisdom replaces energy. — 9 days ago
Smooth. Perfect barolo. Sorry but it was wonderful — 3 days ago
Tar and roses. Soft yet anvil hard. Red brick dust. Anis. Power & subtlety. — 13 days ago
A great wine in a great place. — 3 days ago
Clear, pale ruby to garnet in color; on the nose, it's clean with pronounced primary and secondary aromas of cherries, raspberries, leather, and hibiscus; on the palate, it's dry with high acidity, high tannins, high alcohol, medium body, and pronounced primary and secondary flavors of red currants, clay pots, asphalt, and cranberries with a really long finish. Overall, this wine is balanced, intense, and complex. I taste this wine as outstanding. Nellie likes it, too. It paired really well with steak. — 15 days ago

Amazingly approachable now with lush palate. Mint, plenty of dried/fresh red fruit medley and namesake violets. — 10 days ago
