Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of an hour or so. No formal notes due to the setting. The 2009 seems to break from the reputation of the vintage with a freshness and verve that surprises. The typical quality of Cristal is there with its persistent mousse and attractive texture. Good acid too. Pretty tasty stuff and I’m not sure I would ever turn down a glass of this. Drink now through 2039. — 7 days ago
2017. Pre-anniversary dinner at the oven. 33 years ago we couldn’t afford a lot for our wedding reception and bought a case of the Roederer Estate wine for our reception. We’ve never tried the L’Ermitage until tonight. We loved it! — 14 days ago
2008: a very bright young feeling champagne at 17yrs of age. A resolute acidity carries the brioche and white fruits along! I am unapologetic about my fervor for Dom. — 19 days ago
Can only repeat the comments here of orchard fruit and luxurious perlage. Have wanted to drink one of these for years and felt it perhaps didnt live up to the hype. For the money there are much better Champagnes — a day ago
Bright lemonade, notes, chalk, zesty. An oily texture with hints of lime, slate and a sweetness. Surprisingly approachable given its age and great balance and definition. Long and delicious. From mag. — 8 days ago
