This wine at 14 years in the bottle is still vibrantly youthful on the palate. Crisp lemon, apple, brioche, acacia, lime, hazelnut, candied lemon peel and a light note of beeswax emerge on the nose with a zesty foundation of crushed stone. Bone dry, the wine pulses with flavor and last seemingly forever on the finish. Beautiful, powerful, majestically structured with great finesse. Very impressive.

The whole Tri-state area celebrated this weekend. NYC was hopping. I’m so proud that we played a small part in the end result.
What better way to see the end of a nightmare than with Dom. Cheers.

Much bigger and more oxidative than the Comtes, almost hard to believe they are both BdB from the same vintage. Round with medium acidity and extremely toasty.

Heck of a hosting by @Weston Eidson last night for the City Club wine group. All wines were tasted blind.

This was fantastic, and my first experience with vintage Dom Ruinart. Yeasty but balanced out by mineral driven notes (slate, limestone). Medium bodied (more full when compared to the Marc Hebrart). Little bit of honey. Super smooth mousse. More reductive in style with a tiny bit of burnt matchstick I called this 2006 Blanc de Blanc champagne.

Jason’s birthday (with his wifey). Stunning presentation. Lovely nose of toasted hazelnuts and baked bread. Palate is energetic. Tilts towards spices with hints of nutmeg and cinnamon. Really nice acid profile with excellent balance and mid palate weight. Delicate minerallity comes along for the ride, and completes what is a polished example. Very impressive.

Exceptional. Bright citrus. Lemon oil and sizzling acidity. Loads of depth and very long. One for the future but beautiful now.

Baked yellow apple, pear, quince, Meyer lemon, desiccated white rose, toast, brioche, nougat, roasted almond, marzipan, chalk, wet stones. Fine beaded and well-integrated mousse. Acidity lending structure and balance. Beautiful!! 😍
