Beautiful nose of baking spices and unknown herbs. Also vanilla and cherry. And bam! OMG is this gorgeous. Very fully flavored and luscious with more baking spices and cherry. Higher alcohol of 14.5%, which seems to dominate the wine. Love this! Decanted for 45 minutes. — 3 years ago
Look at that Fucking color. Yes that is what Pinot is supposed to look like. Gorgeous. Unreal nose. Sour cherries, dry leaves, pinpoint precision. Takes 45 minutes to an hour before the symphony begins. But the unfurling and aromatic nuances are just gorgeous. The fruit is almost non existent on the nose the first 15-30 minutes then BAM! Palate is just amazing. Red Riesling on another level. This showing reminds me of Möbitz. It’s so ethereal and lacey. Stunning. Amazing delicate and refined red cherry fruit. More mid to early season cherries and gloriously juicy and perfectly ripe. This is so fine. Velvety and delicate Lacey tannins weave in and out of the finish. Stunning almost silly freshness. Stellar. — 7 years ago

Bam! Surprising amount of tannin still left. Spreading this over a couple of nights. First night - opening up with ripe plush red fruits, some cocoa, cloves violets, with a touch of smoke and cedar once you really get your nose in it. Balanced palate but still tight. Day 2 - upping the rating to 9.5. Structure holds up very well, surprisingly fresh but supple fruit, still giving off that fulsome violet aroma. — 8 years ago
A wonderful wine that we enjoyed with our Christmas dinner that included some beef tenderloin. Not sure how they do it but Carter keeps cranking out wonderful cabs. — 4 years ago
Adult cherry juice. Best pet nat I’ve had in awhile. — 5 years ago
Tasted blind. Straw gold color. Looks young but the complex nose says it isn’t. Notes of citrus, apricot, gravel, some mint. Has that dirty nose that I connect Niellon to. Stunning power, structure and acidity in the mouth. I’m told this was open for 6 hrs already. Some conversation leads to Batard as the vineyard. Someone guesses Ramonet but I go with 86 Niellon Batard. Bam. An all time fav white for me, this was one of the best showings for it. — 7 years ago
Let it open for 4 hours and BAM OMG. — 8 years ago
Pungent fruity notes with loads of spiciness. Such an incredible nose! Beautiful melange of cherry, raspberry and baking spices. And bam. Fully flavored with loads of fruit, silky smooth, and light and easy finish. Incredibly well balanced and refined. My only complaint, although a small one, is the higher alcohol content is noticable and almost takes away from the elegance of the wine. If the AC were lowered a bit I'd have to say it was a nearly perfect wine. All that said, I have always loved brunellos and this is an amazing example. Definitely recommend! — 3 years ago
Bam 💥. I’ve had this lone bottle of Jonata resting in my cellar for the past six years. We had some friends over who had just returned from Santa Ynez and couldn’t make the time to visit Jonata; they weren’t sure what the fuss was all about. Well, now they do. This was absolutely killer right from the pop and pour. So much power yet there was an undeniable charm that just had us all smitten. And, at 14 years young, this was still so alive and downright youthful. There are decades of enjoyment left in these 2005 Desafio’s. Simply outstanding. — 7 years ago
