N: Big acetone, oranges, varnish. This isn’t a seaside fino, as it’s Pedro Ximinez from Montilla-Moriles. Inland. The salinity is less so than in the Jerez models.
P: Nuts , oranges,like a dry marmalade,lots of fruit. Almonds.
Really nice on a hot day.

Wow!
Almonds and Furniture Polish on the nose upon first pour. With Basque Mushrooms and Eggs, dried oranges come screaming through on the palate. Very viscous, at 20°, it should be. A lonnnggg aftertaste. Beautiful burnished orange color. All these years and I am a Sherry and Piemonte freak.

In the world of wine, some are commonplace while others are truly unique. The NV Solera 1830 is firmly in the latter category. This 100% Pedro Ximénez has been aging since the 19th century, resulting in a concentration and richness that command full attention. With a syrupy texture, this rich and sweet wine delivers nuanced, clean aromas of herbs and spices, accompanied by creamy caramel notes. Complex and long-lasting, its umami-driven palate is best experienced firsthand. (Joaquín Hidalgo, Vinous, September 2024)

Very old fino by a historic Montilla producer - with about 12 years of aging under flor in the solera system. Intense nose. Full-bodied, rounder than most Finos from Jerez (made with Pedro Ximenez, instead of Palomino) — 4 years ago
So much flavor. Great backbone. Tasty on its own, awesome in a cocktail with lemon and soda water. — 6 years ago
Caramel, walnut, brown bread, a hint of liquorice. Wonderful, although slightly too much alcohol for my tastes. — 7 years ago
Nutty with citrus, mineral, and caramel. Definitely on the dry side. — 6 months ago
Balsamic-y butterscotch toffee and some coffee notes. Medium-minus body makes this fun. — 9 months ago
80% Oloroso, 20% PX Sherry. Wonderful combination of sweetness and dryness. Not usually a fan of dessert Sherry but I really like this. — 5 years ago
Delicious Oloroso. Toasted walnut with a hint of orange peel. — 8 years ago

I liked this wine. Perfect with Comté. This wine is nutty and woody. It tastes like dry sherry or even more like an oxidized Jura wine or Vin Jaune. This wine will not be liked by many but for those looking for an oxidized style wine this is a nice choice. — 2 months ago
