This 50/50 Syrah-Grenache is a terrific value. Intensely stony, mineral nose shows some roasted green herbs and tiny, very dark berry fruit. Savory and minerally in the mouth, it’s lighter on its feet than the saturated color and mineral profile suggest, with an orange zest note in the clingy finish. And only 13.5%, to boot! — 5 days ago
After two days of grant review and months without sushi, it was time to fix this. Takeout sushi and some really lovely bubbly did the trick. Disgorged in 2019, this Egly-Ouriet was just fabulous. Almost oxidative and carmel flavors wrapped the fine bubbles but still was light on its feet. Need some more of these... — 9 days ago
This is so good. Spellbinding. On first open some tropical notes: peach, greengage, passion fruit. An underlying salinity and stoniness. This is so light but really intense. Ever-changing but effortless. Over the hours in bottle it gets deeper and more profound. Absolutely stunning. So defined and gorgeous but subtle. Long. Just wow. — 2 days ago
Great, lots of bright and peppery flavors while light on its feet. Finished quickly — 12 days ago
More than 5 years since my last btl, and this is absolutely singing. I don't get the VM score (86) at all. Just a fantastically pure grenache, starting to whsiper about secondary aromas. On the nose: red raapberry, a touch of imcense, soft sandalwood and leather...wow. On the palate, excellent acidity, a touch of savory cured meat with the black raspberry...light on its feet, but great density, attenuated and soft tannin on the juicy and tangy finish. — 8 days ago
Delightful. Rich but light on its feet. — 6 days ago
A walk on a forest. Soil. Grosellas. Passion, a lot of passion. — 8 days ago
Excellent example. I was put onto this by @Paul T- Huntington Beach. Another excellent tip. If you don’t have eyeballs on his feed you’re missing out.
On the nose, it explodes with exotic fruits. Palate displays grapefruit, with a hint of pineapple and maybe passion fruits. While the finish presents a touch compressed, we love this. Tipping the scales at 12.8% abv, at $13 from KL, it’s criminal.
