Shawn and I both agreed this had the nose of the night!!!! Huge, opulent and incredibly enticing. I could literally taste of the wet leather when I was enjoying the nose. It's beauty is timeless. I have to tip my hat to any producer that can produce a wind which would hold up for 65+ years. Truly, truly incredible. It involved in the glass for well over three hours with no signs of fading. We literally went back-and-forth all night between this and the Mouton in regards to which would be the WOTN. Absolutely stellar. One of the best Latour that I've ever had. The only thing better than drinking my last bottle of this vintage is sharing it in the company of our great friends Shawn and Jennifer Rose. A huge nose of maraschino cherries, a touch of smoke, olives, anise and jam compote.
Palette is utterly consistent, unfolding with additional layers of coffee and herbs. Tannins are finely grained and help to enhance the density on the mid palette. The finish is ultra-rich, with maybe a touch too much vanillin. 14.1% abv and pristine acidity help to distinguish the wine. The wine is gaining complexity in the glass. This is a stunning example.

Tastes nothing like a CDP. Not so big and boisterous as I expected. Excellent wood treatment, with bright fruits still making an entrance. It presents big with blueberries, black tea and a hint of lavender. Excellent showing with many years ahead of it. From magnum. — 8 years ago

Got to enjoy this lovely Napa cab with the winemaker his self, Jason Moore, along with his red blend Vicarious. Though both were good, this one stood out. The wine was almost black as it hit the glass. Nose smelt of blackberries and a bit of tobacco. Tastes of black & blueberry jam. Tannins are still heavy...give this another 3-5 years. — 10 years ago

Once again Cheval Blanc shows why it's such a legendary wine. The perfume (pencil, leather, Stone, braised beef, patchouly) is so hypnotic it draws you in and you do not want to let it go. Some of my favorite wine experiences, have involved various vintages of the "white pony." 1990 has an amazing reputation in this bottle did not disappoint the etched St-Emilion earth meets cab franc and merlot - like a great romance novel ... this wine me live happily ever after.
