Whoa, what a sublime presentation. Nose displays tobacco leaves, ripe cherries and a dusting of cedar.
Palate is regal - the definition of smooth. Raspberries everywhere. Immature tannins suggest that this should be left for a while. Nice weight and texture leads into a smooth maple syrup finish. Spice box also coming thru after exposure to air. Thank you, Rick.

I had no idea how this was going to present, and in the end, we were thrilled. Initially, the nose showed rose petals and an odd caramel note not typical in burgs that I have tasted. The mid palate was stunning. It had a dense and voluminous mouthfeel. Subdued bing cherries and cedar worked their magic, combined with moderate but resolved tannins. Played very well with our mushroom pate (yes, you read that correctly). The bottle held its own throughout dinner, although the bouquet became more compressed over time. Duband is a go-to Burg producer for me. The majority of his better bottlings are reasonably priced in comparison to other Burg producers.

Drum-tight presentation throughout. Nose presents sirop de cassis and blueberry pie. For a 15 vintage, this still presents as premature.
Palate is a dream. Laser-focused and broad shouldered. Zero tertiary notes on the palate, just rich dark fruits and muscular tannins. Yours truly had to get in on the action here. Thanks to Drew for opening up his cellar! — 4 days ago
I can’t remember the last time I tasted this brand, and while it’s very approachable, it’s a total construction site. Vanilla and over-sweet brown sugar with resolved tannins. Not my cup-of-tea, but will be enjoyed by others. — 5 days ago
Going back to my roots…
I cut my wine tasting teeth (so to speak) on Bdx’s like this, and the good memories come flooding back.
This is a squeaky-clean example displays little signs of age on the nose or palate. Cherries and soft tobacco on the nose give way to ripe tannins and bright acidity on the mid palate. Blueberries and plums are the dominant fruit notes. Expands on the palate becoming ethereal. Peaking now but could sail on for at least another 5 years or so. Predominately Merlot in this excellent blend. — 10 days ago
