I beg to differ on my prior rating. With some airtime, this comes into its own. Places merlot on a different level. The cab franc gives this structure and presence. No rush to consume. Nice acidity and cherry compote on the mid palate. Finished luscious and moderately sweet. — 17 days ago

We love this wine, but it’s grossly overpriced. Green apples and lychee on the nose transitions to soft, supple notes of marzipan, along with a velvety texture. In my mind, Hudson are producing chards at the same level as Aubert and Kistler. This example displays pineapples and peaches on the nose. The wine glides across the mid-palate. So well behaved and weighty. Exotic fruits are juxtaposed with a delicate cut grass note. Finishes moderately sweet. This will cellar for a good 7-10 years. A more leaner rendition of this varietal, but in a good way. Nose displays clean cinnamon and toast. Palate is broad and expansive, yet light on its feet. A kiss of vanilla pod and black fruits conclude an excellent presentation. This is an intellectual wine.
