Twas the night of Thanksgiving and the kids are asleep so Dad and Mom bust out some Schrader. This 2014 CCS has a beautiful nose of honey suckle and blueberry cobbler. Body is velvety smooth (I see no reason to age this) but showcases gorgeous fruit. Vanilla, blueberry, and cedar on the palate. Silly smooth texture is what makes this wine so special — 2 months ago
This is one barrel, (25 cases made). It's Entre nous version of a reserve wine. Basically they take the best of the best fruit and age it in Taransaud T5 and come up with this ridiculous juice. Gorgeous aromatics of violets, pipe tobacco and dark cherry. The palate is rich yet with extremely polished and soft edges with similar notes as the nose along with subtle cedar and wild berries. Finish is soft but resonates with a kiss of mocha at the end. Great juxtaposition of fruit and texture here. This is really incredible wine. No hype here. It reminds me of 2012 Bevan Mcgah. — 6 months ago
Massive nose of cherry cobbler and sugar plums, currant, and wood brambles. Palate is polished but still with formidable tannins (decanted over an hour). Cherries, mocha dust, vanilla and light cedar are all present. Finish is soft and goes on and on. Awesomeness. Perfect to brighten a washed out rainy Sunday. — 6 months ago
Gorgeous chard. Drinks like a Montrachet meets Charlemagne burg. Spent 30 months in new oak yet the oak is subtle and takes a back seat to the minerality and mouth watering acidity on the finish. Pineapple, lemon zest, pear and lightly toasted marshmallow on the long and cheek puckering finish. Too bad only 30 cases made. — 7 months ago
