Twas the night of Thanksgiving and the kids are asleep so Dad and Mom bust out some Schrader. This 2014 CCS has a beautiful nose of honey suckle and blueberry cobbler. Body is velvety smooth (I see no reason to age this) but showcases gorgeous fruit. Vanilla, blueberry, and cedar on the palate. Silly smooth texture is what makes this wine so special — 6 months ago
Unlike Abreu's other reds this is ready to drink now with an hour or so decant. Formidable fruit yet lighter on mid palate than his other wines this is truly a gorgeous 2013 that should be enjoyed now. This shows polished notes of black cherry, cedar and mocha. Finish has length and substance despite a soft approachable mid palate — 2 months ago
Blind I'd think it was sqn. Hence his tribute to Manfred was everything he wanted it to be! Huge berries and bramble jumps from the glass. Meat drippings on the palate enveloped by big but drinkable tannins. Hint of vanilla and smoke on the finish. Opened too early but still very approachable now. — a month ago
