'S' Trocken Weißer Burgunder 2022

A bit closed & ‘soapy’ on opening, after 1h opens up showing juicy pear, yellow apple and some peach. Some rye toast, a bit is stony minerality. Fresh & nice.
On the palate this has nice depth, impeccable balance, purity of fruit and a salty, spicy, mineral finish of remarkable length.
Perfect as an aperitif but would hold its weight with food. a nice one.

Very mineral driven with high acid; a little more concentration and riper fruit on the back palate to balance the minerality would push the score higher. A hit during Thanksgiving — a month ago

Seems like old times.

This hasn’t aged really.

Nose: stone fruits.

Palate: lovely stone fruits. Still vibrant. Bravo.

Stromberg Großes Gewächs Riesling 2018

Merry Christmas to all on Delectable! The best drop during our wine squad’s pre-Christmas gathering has to be this masterpiece from Tim Frohlich. Such insane concentration, yet so filigreed and focused. The trademark reduction and vintage's ripeness gave it such an intense jackfruit character. Notes of herbs, spices, and ripe oranges too, as well as hints of mint and white florals. The palate was dense, silky, and straight up powerful, but never heavy - it remained juicy, bright, and saline throughout. And the finish here was just something else. It went on and on, filled with zingy citrus and a smoky, stony minerality. Really impressive stuff here and definitely a worthy contender (vs. Felseneck) for the title of Schafer-Frohlich’s top wine. — a year ago
