Viura

R. López de Heredia

Viña Gravonia Crianza Rioja Viura 2016

It’s hard to find fully shed classic Viura (white Rioja) anymore but old-school Lopez de Heredia clings to tradition. This wine, nearly 10 years old on release, is fascinating - aged to the point of considerable oxidation yet it retains its fruit ands acidity. Bruised apple, ripe pear, golden raisin, orange peel, flint, wet stones, and hay happily coexist with hazelnut, dried orange peel, coconut, baking spices ands more. The medium acidity is a firm foundation to a richly textured wine, Long finish too! — 25 days ago

I love a power rose and this rioja from Horseneck delivers. Dark color, almost red; fresh raspberries/strawberries, I didn’t check but probably above average ABV - excellent — 3 months ago

Rioja Viura Blend 2024

This is fruity, has a mineral backbone and the barrel aging adds a nice touch of vanilla. Fresh, ripe, razor sharp and creamy at the same time, with a nice zip. — 2 months ago

Kurt wine. Ok. A bit tinny. Not sure I’d get again. Would need to check price — 3 months ago

Viña Tondonia Rioja Rosé Blend 2010

Absolut outstanding rosé. Was looking for years to finally drink it. and I was not disappointed. Aged cherry and strawberry notes witha hint of tannins, a hint of smokey tobaccos, etc etc etc — 4 months ago

Marqués de Cáceres

Rioja Rosé Blend 2024

This dependable rosé is a rich, pink salmon color, with a mineral-laden nose featuring lemon, strawberry, and cherry aromas. The palate is dry, fruity and laced with minerals. A good level of acidity provides for excellent food pairing and a refreshing demeanor on its own. There’s a touch of orange peel on the finish.

The wine is a great chilled sipper, but also pairs well with spring salads, summer grilling, or paella, if you're up to it.
