Flamsheed’s new project. Lots of whole bunch in this. Very vegetal on the nose and then rhubarb and red/dark fruit profile with some reductive notes. Quite muscular and structured for a Coal River wine. Excellent concentration with good length. Vegetal character dominates but not out of balance. — 2 months ago
Very solid village Vosne. Quite plush and concentrated mouthfeel for a Burg, with fruit towards the darker spectrum and characteristic spice of Vosne. Med acid and fine tannin. — 4 months ago
Serious with weight, complexity, and power. Very reductive funky nose. The palate attack starts with high acid and citrus/mandarin, then moves into an incredible mid palate - round, creamy, with pure citrus and peach fruit giving vibrancy. Long, balanced, and multi-layered. Top 3 of all time with Daguenau, and Cotat. Expensive for a NZ S/B but incredible value given the quality. — 23 days ago
Dark cherry, blackberry, firm but integrates tannin. Herbs - rosemary and thyme. Quite soft and round for a young brunello. Drinking well and delish over pizza at Anto — 3 months ago
Opened with pure cherry and tobacco notes but put on weight and complexity with air. — 4 months ago
Beautiful fresh cabernet from Alto. — 5 months ago
Pure purple fruit. Not red, or black. Not much acid or tannin, but beautiful pure fruit expression with real mid palate weight. 1 or 2 more pts with structure. — a month ago
Exceptional chardonnay with the latent power of a GC burgundy, but with salinity and tannic grip. Beautiful nose with reductive gunsmoke, apple, and baking spices. The structure is the perfect fit for the intense and powerful flavour bomb: lemon merengue pie, smoke, tangerine, all in perfect balance. The concentration and length are world class. As long as I can remember of ANY wine I have tasted. World class for A$90 — 2 months ago
This is extraordinary for a base pinot. Asparagus, prosciutto, and vegetal notes dominates the nose. The palate unfurls into a savoury tapestry of tannin, dark cherry and salami. This is long and complex and would improve with cellaring given the balance and tannic grip. Punching well above its weight. — 4 months ago

Outstanding block 5. Much more concentration and power than precious vintages. Strawberry, raspberry, pepper, wood spice. The power of the very best from Central Otago but with an elegance.
Really great pinot.
