Krankl Wine

The Third Twin Graciano 2014

Wow. Seriously brilliant wine from Manfred Krankle. I can’t say that I’ve ever had a pure graciano before - comes across to me as a hypothetical cross between a grenache and a high-end merlot (like a Petrus-level merlot). Opened up yesterday but it was very closed, so we put a cork in it and kept it in the fridge for 24 hours. WHAT A DIFFERENCE. Absolutely amazing nose of violets, crushed blackberries, candied blueberries, and hints of a chocolate ganache. Palate is pure SQN, with that elegant intensity that characterizes everything that comes out of Manfred’s winery. Lingering, perfectly balanced finish that goes on for well over a minute. Awesome. — 22 days ago

Seven Springs Vineyard Gamay Noir 2016

A nice Gamay. Violets, smoke, manure, clove, tilled earth, cherries, underripe plums. Vibrant acidity. — 15 days ago

Sweetwater Springs Vineyard Petite Sirah 2016

Definitely a big boy with a ton of black fruit liqueur, violet, and graphite. But there was still a sense of freshness. — 19 days ago

Seven Springs Pinot Noir 2012

Loving this from the terrific 2012 vintage. Evolved nicely in the glass after the decant too. Edges were still present on open. Needed some rounding...

@Antonio Galloni hi. I’m still getting knocked out of premium and am seeing ads. What do we do here? A bummer to see ads after paying since the day you turned on Premium and posting over 700 wines.

Seven Springs Vineyard Pinot Noir 2013

Really strawberry. Not the big fleshy strawberries from the supermarket, but the little wild ones. A bit of sour cherry. Very good, but ultimately too one-note to be great — a day ago

Trilogy Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 1995

Still has tannins. Almost no bouquet. Went very well with barbecue meats. — 6 hours ago

Flora Springs

Reserve Rutherford Hillside Cabernet Sauvignon 1995

A gift from Mike Therien, this is AWESOME. Classic older cab aromatics of dried currants, leather, and dried blackberries, the palate is beautifully balanced, great flavors, and a beautiful finish. Would be hard-pressed to find a better 25-year-old wine from Napa. Fantastic...thank you, Mike! — 10 days ago

Windfall Vineyard Merlot 2010

Our last bottle 😢. First had this at the winery in 2013, and slowly drank through our supply since then. It has held up really well and drinks well right now. Deep garnet color, showing some bricking at the edges. I get baking spices in there nose. Moderate tannins, good acid. Plum and berries in the mouth. Paired great with grilled lamb. — 3 days ago

Seven Springs Vineyard Pinot Noir 1999

Still quite closed and somewhat backward for a 21-year-old Pinot (way more so than the ‘99 Brickhouse), rich redfruits, quite complex, still pretty structured, needs 5-10 more years, long finish, excellent. — 20 days ago
