Torre A Cona

Allegrini

Palazzo della Torre Veronese Corvina Blend 2018

I bought and drank a fair amount of Allegrini Palazzo Della Torre back in the late 1990s, and always enjoyed them. First time in the past 20 years, this seems a little softer and polished, a little lower ABV (13.5 vs. 14+ in earlier vintages), this is vinified using conventional fermentation as well as some ripasso fermentation (think Amarone drying grapes on straw mats), and has some very nice complexity and length, very nice!! — 9 hours ago

Fattoria Zerbina

Torre Di Ceparano Superiore Riserva Sangiovese di Romagna 2017

Nice. Slightly chalky tannins, lether and a grain of dark fruits. Definetly works best with one or two hours of air and a decent lasagne. Gruyere is a great companion as well. — 7 months ago

Azienda Agricola La Torre

Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2006

The 2006 La Torre pours a slightly hazy garnet color; browning with some rim variation. Medium+ viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is vinous and showing the typical nature of the vintage; full, round, generous. The fruit is mostly desiccated in profile with leather, espresso, chocolate, earth and gentle warm spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium acid. The structure is very well integrated but keeping everything propped up. The finish is long, lovely. Drink now. I wouldn’t hold these past 2026. — 3 months ago

Bodegas Muga

Torre Muga Rioja Tempranillo Blend 2019

Founded in 1932 by Isaac Muga Martínez, now run by Manuel, Isabel & Isaac Muga Caño. Deep Ruby, aromas of sweet red and black fruits with pepper spice, unmistakable Muga. 4 grape blend from the Haro district (70% Tempranillo, rest Garnacha, Mazuelo & Graciano), palate shows cherry and currant flavors with espresso, vanilla & toasty oak tones. Soft full tannins, lively acidity on a medium+ finish ending with an earthy mineral character. Nice value! — a month ago

Torre Rracina

Leggermente Appassite Nero d'Avola 2021

A surprisingly serious & balanced Nero D’Avola-black fruited all the way. Plenty of casis & blackberries on palate. Quite concentrated but not overly so or too fruity-Apparently a portion of the grapes used are dried in the old style (& as in some Venetian wines). Not complex either but just delicious. Polaner book, & at 13$ a steal. — 2 months ago

Fresh and round. More full bodied than expected. Very drinkable. Would get again. Nice alternative to a sav Blanc — not as acidic. Kurt Wine. — 2 years ago
