This is by far my favorite rose — 4 days ago
Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of several hours. The 2008 Special Club pours a straw color with a persistent mousse. On the nose, the wine is developing and somewhat shy but there’s citrus, white peach, brioche and a rather fascinating smell that reminded me of a built-up roof. On the palate, the wine is dry with high acid. Confirming the notes from the nose however here, it’s much richer and expansive. The finish is long. Young? Probably. Drink now through 2038. Another excellent vintage of this Alsatian classic. Blend of Gewurtztraminer (30%), Pinot Gris (24%), Riesling (19%), Sylvaner (18%), Pinot Blanc (6%) and Muscatel (3%). Pale yellow color with light green highlights. Fresh aromas and flavors of green apple, Asian pear, white flowers, quince, lemon and tropical fruit. Touch of spice on the long, nutty and crisp finish. Medium bodied and well balanced. Bracing acidity, nice structure and bone dry. So fresh and clean. Thanks for the glass, Chris B! — a day ago
Ruby in color with a wide reddish rim.
Fruity on the nose, and medium plus in body with medium acidity.
Dry on the palate with nice complexity and a soft mouthfeel.
Showing plums, red currants, cherries, earth, black coffee, light wood, spices, tobacco leaf, dark chocolates, black tea, bitter herbs and peppercorn.
Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries.
This 5 year old Cincalt /Grenache blend is already drinking nicely. Complex and interesting. Spicy and soft.
Elegant and fruit forward with nice compliments of the earth notes.
Needs 3 hours in the decanter to open up properly, so be patient.
Easy drinking and elegant. Would be interesting to try it again in 5 years.
A blend of 50% Cinsault, 40% Grenache and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. Aged in French Oak barrels for 6 months.
14% alcohol by volume.
92 points.

Raspberry fruit with tertiary development showing good Volnay can age well. This is great. 2009 — a month ago
Along with Egly-Ouriet, simply the best entry-level grower champ on the market (IMO). This is 70% base vintage, and 30% reserve wines. Blend is 33/33/33% Pinot/Chard/Meunière. 30+ months on lees… damn delicious. Disgorgement: June 2023 / Dosage: 6 gr/l — 24 days ago

Medium lemon colour . Very fine quite persistent perlage . Quite strict and mineral on the nose , with chalk dust , oyster shell then lemon pith , honeysuckle, toasted brioche. Quite taut and focused on the palate , but with good intensity with mineral , lemon peel , brioche and lightly nutty hints . Good freshness and really good length . This is showing quite young but enjoyable now , will probably improve further over the next few years and hold well over the following 5-10 years . — 2 days ago
