A little chewy upfront. Nice punch of cabernet. Then the cab franc and Petit Verdot show up. Dry and rich. Nice sipping with dinner. Went well with lamb and polenta. — 8 months ago

Super young. Once the primary & quite expressive fruit blows off, this is actually quite nice. Still on the fruitier side, but there’s a savoury, earthy whiff to it. Airy cherries, baking spice, good depth.
On the palate this is still youthful LY chunky but there’s good balance, good depth. This is surprisingly high in alc (14.5%!!) and it’s noticeable.
Very curious how this will evolve.

2005 vintage. Beautiful nose, with cassis, blackberries, cedar wood, a little smokiness,and flowers. Seriously concentrated, combining power and elegance. Layers of fruit in a tight but ripe tannic structure. Showing beautifully now, but it should age effortlessly for decades. Classic Saint-Julien. — 2 months ago
