The ‘22 Karatas from Bedrock is a Bordeaux blend of Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc from their eponymous vineyard. Pale gold with a nose full of honeysuckle and orchard fruit. That’s backed by mouth-filling melon and pear with a noticeable backbone. Excellent. — 7 months ago

Light lemon colour . Beeswax , lemongrass , lemon peel on the nose. On the palate good body, with lemon and lime notes , beeswax and a herbaceous tinge . Still fresh acidity , this comes across as really quite young still, without the honied, toasty notes you expect with age . Still quite light on its feet, elegant and relatively lean . The length is ok , and perhaps lacks a little intensity on the mid palate , but for the basic Semillon this shows well . Drink now and over the next 10 years — 8 months ago

Bright mid yellow. Citrus with wet straw, lanolin and a faint paraffin note. On the palate such purity with that zesty citrus and those waxy lanolin notes you get with mature Semillon. Enough acid to propel this wine into the 2030’s to achieve 25 years of age. Lovedale is one of the leading Semillons in the Hunter Valley - the vineyard being planted by Maurice O’Shea in 1946 and the first vintage in 1950. Initial aromas of passion fruit. 76% Sauvignon Blanc, 24% Semillon. Grassy and herbal notes. Quite delicate. A guava note on the palate. Only 35% new oak which is totally integrated. So refreshing and balanced. I have previous Delectable notes which were also praiseworthy. — 3 months ago
