Tyrrell's Wines
Vat 1 Hunter Valley Semillon
Buddha’s hand citrus, lots of crushed rock, flint, chalk on the nose. Such an interesting expression, green grass on the palate which is very tart and crisp with just a hint of butterriness. Super herbal, very dry finish so this seems austere at first but its pleasures creep up on you as you keep coming back for more. Structure is evident though it’s just started to take on volume.

Found this tough to enjoy, so so herbal and vegetal. Old passion fruit pulp, cabbage, gooseberry, grassy and stewed fruits. Slight honey and lanolin character building indicating its age.

Apr 16th, 2018A top dry Semillon, with a fragrant nose of citrus and cream, and a complex palette of lemon and vanilla. A complex wine truly worth trying and enjoying.

Dec 23rd, 2018Still young, bone dry with sharp acidity up front and it needed some time to open up. By towards the end of the bottle, really started to show more of the classic Semillon with notes of honey, golden delicious apple, sour candied lemon, a little waxiness, and some smokiness. I preferred drinking but a little warmer
