Incredible blend. Highly recommended. — 3 months ago
Muddy ruby color with a brick rim. Aromas of black cherry/currant/plum with hints of wet soil, tar, leather and truffles. Same fruits on the pallet with additional notes of black licorice, dried sage and tobacco. Nice acidity level and the tannins are mellowing out. Medium bodied and very traditional in style. Touch of milk chocolate and menthol on the very long finish. Could age longer but glad we opened this one. Quite the crowd pleaser. Thanks for sharing, Kase and Petey! — 10 months ago
Medium deep ruby , quite young looking . Some dry , wood spice at first then raspberry, red cherry . Quite sweet on the palate , cherry , touch of anis and mint . Quite rich and generous , firm gritty tannins , touch of alcohol warmth noticeable . Good balanced acidity . Showing pretty young still , s bit rustic in style , showing the warmth of the vintage . Needs a bit more time , better in 3–5 years and will last well a further 5-8 — 8 months ago
This is brut zero rose.
The aromatic nose shows pink grapefruit, strawberry, lime, light yeast, and hint of ginger. The palate is vivacious yet poised with round acidity, not something I expected from brut zero. Gentle persistent mousses.
Blend of PN and chard with 60 months on lees. Rocche dei Manzoni was the first winery (and one of the few) from Langhe to produce sparkling wine in tradition method. — 10 months ago
Very dark ruby color. Called Big d’ Big for a reason. Bold aromas of violets, pot pourri, leather and dark cherry. Intense flavors of black berry/cherry, figs, vanilla and baking spices. Firm tannins, full bodied and medium-plus acidity. Pretty well balanced. Aged in large barriques. This is a style of Barolo (very fruit forward) more suited to New World wine drinkers. Quite good. I wish Barbarescos would come with a back label telling you how tannic the wine is, kind of like Alsace now does the sweetness bar. Many of the less expensive ‘19s are drinking well now, but this one is quite tannic. The nose has nice cherry fruit and a leathery note. It’s got nice flavor intensity and ripeness on the palate, but then the mouth-puckering tannins hit. Needs a few more years. — 11 days ago
