Nose has ripe cherry, over-ripe strawberry, stack of new encyclopediae, dry autumn leaves and muddy mint plant.
Palate has spring cherries, (faint) peppermint leaf, old leather, charred San Marzano tomato, barrel notes (not oak) with medium tannins. Not giving up too much on the palate with 2+ hours decanting.
Needs much more air tonight, or years; we have another bottle and it can likely rest for about a decade (2028+).
