Pop and pour. On the nose: pine needle, cola, dusty blackberry, mulberry leaf. On the palate: excellent acidity, damp earth, bark, mulberry. Lacking some concentration/density on the mid, but a nice juicy finish with very soft tannin. — 2 years ago

Mid Ruby. Notes of mulberry, lavender, cherry and a little pepper. Medium bodied spicy palate showing cool climate characters. Drinking well at 8 years with a long future. The last one I had was in 2018. This is more the midweek quaffer Wynns Shiraz, not like their premium Shiraz, “The Michael “. Interestingly Shiraz was initially the predominant red varietal in Coonawarra before Cabernet Sauvignon took that mantle. — 3 months ago

See previous Delectable note. Very dark Ruby in colour - opaque. A beautiful fragrant black fruited nose of mulberry, cassis and dried herbs. It’s nice to vary our producers from Margaret River and this is one that one doesn’t often see. This was most impressive - full bodied palate showing blackberry, eucalypt, bay leaf, capsicum, plum - in fact all of the Cabernet descriptors. Graphite texture with velvety tannins. This is from the southern end of Margs near the likes of Cape Mentelle and Voyager Estate. To repeat the previous note this won a major Trophy in London for best Cabernet Sauvignon from Margaret River. This could cellar for at least another 5 years. — 7 months ago
