Has the gamey nose of goat emmentaler cheese soaked in cherries. Young and ageable. Purchase to cellar if you enjoy the name. Classically oaked California Cab.

Tasted at the new Geyserville tasting room. What a beautiful setting. The new silver oaks are really terrific wines. I particularly liked this 2014 Alexander valley. It was so true to its Cabernet roots and should glide effortlessly in the cellar for many many years

Indeed. Oak juice. The sharp edge of oak overriding any possible flavors underneath it. After about four hours it mellowed our, but so had the entire wine. Disappointing. Certainly not worth the $80 a bottle.

I can’t hardly believe my luck - found this at a local grill house bar restaurant in MD for $85 on their cellar clearance wine menu. Truthfully I hadn’t had this nice of a #napacabernet in quite some time. Bold fruit on the nose but some nice earth, acidity and elegance on the finish with fine tannins. Unmistakably Napa and delicious. Beautiful pairing for upscale meatloaf.

This was nice but a little less robust than we remember from last time we drank it.

Dark purple color. Potent aromas of blackberry, plum and (yes) asphalt. Cooked dark fruit compote and vanilla flavors on the pallet. Tannins are relatively smooth for such a HUGE wine. Bracing acidity. Almost overwhelming.
