Amery Vineyard Block 6 Shiraz 2003

This was really cool to try. Don’t know much about the producer. I only got to enjoy this as a pop and pour so I’m not sure how it changed later in the evening, but it had dark cocoa dusted dates, old graham cracker and baked blackberry aromatics. Still youthful on the palate with fig, old graham cracker, and red & black ripe fruit. Hope to try one of these again. — 14 days ago

McLaren Vale Shiraz 2004

Big... alcoholic wine...super smooth tannins... spices....menthol...pleasant sweetish finish. It is dark purple and it does not show any signs of aging even though it is from 2004 — 6 days ago

Two Left Feet Shiraz Blend 2005

What this wine lacks in tannins it more than makes up for with smooth silky strawberry jam. Interesting hint of floral nose. Like putting on silk pajamas. — 9 days ago

The Parson Cabernet Sauvignon 2014

Color of purple with brown hue on the rim. Nose of nice dark fruits, like plum, blackberry, vanilla, a bit cocoa, a bit violet, and a bit strawberry. Taste of dark fruits note, strawberry, polished tannins, subtle sweetness, peppery, quite silky, a bit too much bitter on a sense, some grassy note, ripe cherry, a bit coke cola, raisin, and a bit mineral. Aftertaste is medium with some more peppery note and bittersweetness. Quality Cab. Just a bit too sweet for me. — 10 hours ago

High Sands McLaren Vale Grenache 2013

Needs decanting and wait a long time for it to open up. 2013 Vintage - this is way too early - needs 10 to 15 years at least. Powerful intense structure with plenty of tannins. 3/6.5/9.5 = 19 out of 100 = 95 will improve with age — 9 days ago

The Dead Arm McLaren Vale Shiraz 2011

Luscious dark fruit compote with leather and tobacco. I was particularly intrigued by the label’s message: “Dead Arm is a vine disease caused by the fungus Eutypa Lata that randomly affects vineyards all over the world. One half, or one arm of the vine slowly becomes reduced to dead wood. That side may be lifeless and brittle, but the grapes on the other side display amazing intensity.” — 13 days ago

Collett Lane Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

A gem from our McLaren Vale trip in Australia. Sandalwood and dark fruit aromas with a plush weighted mouth presence busting with blackberries, blueberry, and tingling tannins powered by notes of black pepper and vanilla finishing smooth and silky — 14 days ago

McLaren Vale Old Vine Grenache 2013

Killer value Grenache - char and eucalyptus, graphite, with soft blackberry and black cherry notes. Acid driven, under ripe style - awesome stuff. — 13 days ago

The Stump Jump McLaren Vale Grenache Blend 2016

— 15 days ago
