Deep Ruby with purple hues, aromas of berry fruits, slight floral and smoky spice. On the palate flavors of blackberry, cedar, vanilla and herb floral notes. Fine tannins, long finish, ending with fruit, cacao, smoky oak and herb character. Nice!! Aging and drinking well! — 4 months ago

Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon
Rich deep red color, nice fruity flavors, tast proty dry wine. — 2 years ago
The Monte Rosso was outstanding in every way- expressive nose of dark red fruits and layers that touched all parts of the palate. The flavors complimented a wonderful dinner. 8 years and still getting better. 100 year old vines that show how good Zinfandel can be when grown and tended to reveal their sense of place. Outstanding 🍷🍷🍷 — 5 years ago
Yo. Yes. Love it. Rich. Complex. Loooooooong finish. Soft tanins, velvet body. — 10 months ago
This is misidentified as Pinot noir as the back label lists about 5 other varieties. Then again the back label is generic enough that it seems they put them on all their bottles back then. No vintage noted but is an early 60’s bottling. Still bright with loads of red fruit. What I seem to detect is a slight VA but others with more experience with older vintages says that it was on point. I’m good on the palate just not the aromatics. For a 50yr old wine I’m good with it. — 3 years ago
Estate dates back to Crusades & Scottish navigator, George Smith, owner in the 18th century. Followed by M. Duffour-Dubergier, Mayor of Bordeaux, then Louis Eschenauer, a famous wine shipper. In 1990, Daniel & Florence Cathiard now own estate. Blend of 60% Cab Sauv & 40% Merlot, dark berry aromas, herbs and earthy spice. On the complex palate flavors of cherry and currant with pepper, tobacco and cacao notes. Soft ripe tannins, long finish ending with an earthy mineral character. — 3 months ago
Dark fruit, cherries, anise, and tobacco on the nose. Very dry wine. Dried fig, vanilla, more dark fruits, more cherry, and chocolate. Long finish of leather and oak. Drink now. Decant for an hour. — 5 years ago
