La Vieille Ferme (Perrin & Fils)

La Vieille Ferme Rouge Red Rhone Blend

Pretty nice color. Light and dark at the same time. Smells like rain, cranberries and chaparral. Flavors are nice. A simple Rhône type red. It’s great for a cheapie. I could drink this anytime. — 19 days ago

Winery notes,

beautiful terroir skillfully worked by Jérômine Paret and Philippe Garnier. Responding to the call of his parents, Jérômine gave up a career as an English teacher to take over the family estate. She then studied business and allied herself with Philippe Garnier, who has one goal in mind: to achieve excellence. She does not regret her choices today and her customers don't either! Thus, the estate evolves each year with new wines and techniques. The organically-farmed vineyards are planted mostly to Marsanne, and this is reflected in the blend, which also includes Bourboulenc, Clairette, Sauvignon, and Ugni Blanc. Fermented entirely in stainless steel and resin-lined cement vats, the wine shows notes of white flowers including honeysuckle, jasmin, and citrus blossom, while aeration reveals secondary nuances of aniseseed, eucalyptus, and hazelnut.

Chateau Bru Lagardette Cahors Rouge

Drinking the 2013 in 2020... surprisingly good! Different after these years. Good value, underrated for the quality & price. Vanilla cherry coffee and a hint of smoke. Decent balance and body. Recommended if you can find for under $10 — 3 days ago

Wood shavings. Sour cherries, lots of soil and mineral tones. Cranberry and watermelon as well. Smells super fresh. Palate is elegant and tart with sour cherry fruit and even some grapefruit. Lovely texture and very precise and lingering hit of opulence. Very fresh and much longer than it needs to be. Good depth, focus and concentration. Lovely. — 10 days ago

What a nose, alpine, pasture, flowers, gorgeous sweet fruit, violets, huge sweet tannins, high acidity, good energy, tart and sweet, seems a bit closed, good core. — 2 days ago

Anjou Rouge Cabernet Franc 2018

Complete and spectacular representation of CF from the old world. Like YO-YO Ma playing the score to the Sound of Music. Sensual and poetically articulate. Stunning $19 bottle that had 3 full days of life! — 6 days ago

Chanson Rouge Red Blend

Really delicious. Very rounded, slight fruit notes but lovely and heavy. Balanced tannins (not super powdery but very dry). Close to an esperao — 11 days ago
