Gorgeous nose. Wet straw and moist limestoney gravel, a faint toasty note, ripe Macintosh apple and orchard fruit. Full but balanced and minerally in the mouth. Really nice length on the lipsmackingly mineral finish. Sneaky acids helping to keep it fresh. — 2 years ago
Delicious, especially with sirloin steak and Billy!

2022 vintage. Sampled via Coravin. Medium-medium heavy body. Vineyard from the highest point in Gevrey-Chambertin. Gorgeous throughout already with surprising, back-end spice fest. Tannins slightly muted but started to creep out after a few minutes in the glass. This likes to speed and is going places. 1.30.26. — 5 months ago

Fruit forward, apple and pear accents, became more citrus-like when paired with a fennel salad. — 2 years ago

What a wine. Fun expressive and bright. Taste of raspberry lemon and sculpting clay. Had on Christmas Day with Beef Bourgogne but would be equally as good on a warm day with vegetables. — 5 years ago
meaty spicy beauty! — 7 years ago
Killer Wine Night. Lineup of 17 wines. Tasted blind. Theme was Old World Killer “B” (the letter “B” has to be the first letter in one of the proper nouns in the wine e.g., region, varietal, type, winery name, etc.)
Wine 6. mushroom, strawberry, plum. Lot of tannins. Surprising on the reveal given its 20 years old. — 8 years ago
Still so primary! Tons of red fruit. Not closed at all — 8 months ago
Another superb showing from a 2011 red burg. This vintage seems to have really turned a corner. No doubt in a leaner style but absolutely zero greenness or underripe character, but rather exceptionally elegant and detailed with a beautiful perfume and silky palate.
Along with this one, my favorite 2011 reds in the past year…
-Mugneret Gibourg Clos Vougeot
-Vogue Bonnes Mares

Soft and round. Not feeling it too much. Not floating my boat — 3 years ago
Yes, the 2002 is indeed delicious without that metallic Notes marring the ’03. Complex, earthy but light on its feet, just what you want for a Burg! Oh wait, the others are au Renard — 4 years ago
I don’t know what to think of this throughout the experience. It was funky with all kinds of damp wood and forest floor and exotic dark incense type characters very 1er Gevrey. In the mouth it was deep and rich but still with lift and verve fruit intact and a nice finish. By the bottom of the bottle the aromas were so heady, like concentrated brand new leather interior of a car still going down easy with a nice extract and fruit wrapped in complexity. Have never even heard of the producer. Excited to see the other couple bottles! I’m giving it an extra .1 because it’s 22 years old and holding nicely. — 6 years ago
Can’t get stop going after ‘15 Burgundy. Here, from one of region’s elite and from the fabulous Combe aux Moines vineyard, deeply flavored and beautifully perfumed, ripe black cherries, red raspberry, exotic spices and damp earth. The texture is luxurious and supple and the finish is long and seductive. 🔥 — 7 years ago

Love the vintage for Fourrier. 09 Cherbaudes is in a terrific place, showing substantial richness and power with wild red berry and earthy aromatics and a deep, concentrated palate with a lengthy mineral finish. While I prefer the more elegant and detailed Combe aux Moines in this vintage, Cherbaudes is quite delicious and very showy now. — 5 months ago
