Well aged in Magnum format. A very beautiful beaujolese vintage who pinotes as we like. Notes of grape variety: cherries, rose petals and iris.. Beautiful notes of evolution dried flowers, truffled, humus. The 2015 density and the evolving aerial nuances of gamay form a rich and refined bouquet. Very greedy. Interesting final for this type of wine.
— 15 hours ago
Decided to give this one another go since I liked it so much last time. Didn’t detect as much cooking oil viscosity as last time but it’s still quite rich. Stimulating bouquet with layered scents of mixed red and black fruit (red cherry & plum, blackberry, fresh bramble), strong savory notes of aged leather, mushroom, game, and barnyard-y smells, spicy oak notes of cloves, cedar, and smoke… and I think I detect some anise seed and sandalwood? On the palate more red n black fruit together including red cherry, blackberry, and blueberry, notable black pepper lingering with smoothed out but grippy tannins on a medium finish. This would probably age well; still a fantastic value for a Friday night from Jura the Underdog — 11 days ago
First try of Foillard and it does live up to the (high) reputation. There’s such a lovely tamed softness here with exceptional integration and length on the palate that I don’t feel the need to qualify that in the context of the grape/region. This is a sophisticated wine that I’m happily drinking now but will surely age well for 5-10 years. — 6 days ago
Insane spices on the nose. Confectionery cherry fruit. Smells like a Gamay cotton candy machine. Palate is ripe and explosive. Shows some of the 18 “lack of focus” but is pure and linear as well. Was more focused in 17 and I presume 19. Juicy and clean. Doesn’t quite have that ethereal, compact quality it usually has. Also a hint of funk/barnyard on the nose. Showing a tiny bit of heat as well . — 9 days ago
Star bright, very pale straw gold. Very inviting nose and medium palate of green apple, citrus rind, and mild chalky mineral. Medium acidity. Ready for your best seafood dishes or soft cheeses. Excellent example of the higher end of Sauvignon Blanc (but at a more midrange price). Drink now through 2024. — 14 days ago

Beautiful nose. Just so lifted and floral. Raspberry, black cherry, blueberry, pastille effect, herbal, an apothecary vibe in a medieval video game. Palate is lush and very 18. Soft and structured with black cherry and late season red cherries. Not showing much finesse yet but has great balance. Dynamite juiciness. Really engaging and fresh but still a little 18 itis. Ripe and juicy tannins with nice floral fruit notes. Let’s see where this goes.
This stayed the same and lost some focus. 18 Foillards mostly miss the mark — 2 days ago
