At this stage, the Les Charmes has a slight edge over the Cote du Py for me due to it’s lacier texture and distinct mineral streak. The Cote du Py looks brutish even against this wine. A fascinating study of Beaujolais terrior.

Aug 7th, 2022This was delicious. Just the kind of wine I like. On a night full of big, heavy reds, this was solace on the table. A wine of energy! Aromas of cherry pastille, cardamom, and fresh flowers. The palate was a touch reduced, but it comes of as being flinty, which plays to the mineral-accented finish. Light to medium body, with juicy plums and black cherry flavours, seamless tannins, and good acidity. Not the most layered wine of the night, but gosh it’s tasty. I needed this tonight.
