Cuvée Réserve Brut Grand Cru Champagne Blend

A funky swervey champagne Rose’ of all Pinot (8% still juice) where all the fruit is contained within a burlap sack of barley husk and smoked peaches. Muted dried fruits - dried orange peel, dried rose petals, dried wild strawberry, celery seed, fennel, and Parmesan. Tart berries only on the finish. So awesomely unexpectedly savory. — 13 days ago

L'Hermitage Blanc Marsanne Roussanne 2012

Seafood tower and...Fabulous bottle! Starting to enter its window. Rich but not heavy, fresh with bitter elements that blend nicely to offer contrast between its gras and broad fruit. I found it to be quite lively on the palate without sacrificing classic Hermitage blanc character. A true vin de terroir. Great evolution over a couple hours of air. — 7 days ago

Auxey-Duresses Chardonnay 2017

As soon as I tasted this wine Becky Wasserman’s voice from IDTT podcast rang ‘I’d much rather have a nice auxey-duresses blanc on the regular and nobody’s really enthusiastic about those wines’ ...this is a great example of why we should be looking to great producers like fichet to highlight lesser respected appellations like this. Excellent and even at $40 great value. Rating corresponds to price. — a month ago

Elizabeth Jean 125 Years McLaren Vale Shiraz 2013

drank a glass a night over 4 nights ~ 1st night paired well with steak on the grill with some sautéed mushrooms ~ following nights didn’t “require” food and could appreciate on its own ~ loads of dark berries followed by a mocha profile with some spices — 20 hours ago
