Eponym' Les Charmes Morgon Gamay 2017

Beautiful work. Granite/slate/juicy berry accord, good tannin, violet aroma...chewy & dense but not unwelcoming in the least. Delicious now and a ways to go in its evolution. — 5 days ago

Le Beaurepaire Santenay 1er Cru Chardonnay 2014

Despite a slight reduction feeling, a magnificent wine very mineral driven, saline, with just enough roundness for a great balance, long linear finish, delicious.

Malgré une petite réduction encore présente, magnifique vin avec une salinité et une tension tranchante presque, tout en ayant une petite rondeur, belle finale linéaire et savoureuse, très équilibré et charmeur.

Brut Cremant Du Jura Chardonnay 2015

Big scents of golden apples, hints of tangerine, cream puffs, steely minerality, and incense. Apples, yellow peach, blood orange, lime zest, with a rich cream lingering on a nice finish. Great value — 3 days ago

Very pretty nose. Gorgeous, high toned cherry fruit, layered and so pretty. Earth, minerals and some gorgeous tweed jacket, wet grass and mushroom scents. Gorgeous. Really just slamming. Palate is ripe and juicy with lovely concentration and purity. Finish is a bit short initially and dominated by tannins and minerals. But there is lovely mid season cherry fruit that is bright and a lovely complex mid palate and even more complexity on the finish. This seems like it will need a hour. — 2 days ago

Les Beaumonts Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2009

An initial whiff of rose petals and high toned florals gave way to earthy/forest floor and musky aromatics. On the palate, viscous dark cherries, crushed strawberries, and pepper linger persistently with an eventual mineral dusting. A delicious and contemplative bottle. — 6 days ago

My wife’s birth-year. Smooth as a baby’s butt...Caramel, butterscotch, and a hint of chewy english toffee. Just the slightest bite on the long, boisterous finish. It’s all about the age and the barrels, but just the top-off for a chilly Covid election eve. — 18 days ago

Homme Mort Chablis 1er Cru Chardonnay 2018

Finally got myself a bottle of one of the rarest wines I import. Only got an allocation in 18 for the first time. Anyway this is an insane bottle of Chablis. It’s basically Fabien’s Grand Cru. Nose is spicy and mineral. Sea water, hint of discreet wood. So salty. Nose is so classic and the most ethereal of the Dauvissat wines. Wow, the palate is so intense and explosive. Awesome minerality and electricity. Juicy and so pure. Backwards and will need air. So much sap and dry extract. Lime echo on the finish. So so long. Awesome power, majesty and density. What grip. What an intense wine. The length is crazy. — 2 days ago
