A rock star of a wine. Just stunning. Nose is all red and black cherries and just so layered and hedonistic. 2022 is soooo good right now. Juicy and dense with serious structure and unreal black cherry fruit tempered by such fierce minerality. But it’s all so elegant. Insane freshness and purity. This is young but the explosiveness, concentration and tiny berry fruit intensity are top notch here. I know my score will rise. Insanely long finish. All class. — 5 months ago
I love this vineyard and Girard’s interpretation of it. Generous and enveloping nose with gorgeous mid season cherry, spice, seaweed paper, tweed jacket and macerated mid to late season cherries. Really provocative and deep aromas. Palate is classic young Fichots. A wall of tannin and gorgeous dark fruits that echoe but are currently 90% covered by tannins. So dense and chewy with just awesome inner mouth aromas and dark black and blue fruits and. sinewy, foresty vibe that is so intriguing. This wine needs air but is shaping up to be a classic Fichots. Nose opening up with dark cranberry, spice, forest floor and more. The Fichots aromatic complexity is really here in spades. I love this wine. Loosening up and getting so juicy. So pure. Really nice inner mouth aromas and terrific energy and freshness. Awesome on day 2. Nose is brambly and nuanced. Palate is out of this world. Dense and opulent fruit. So fresh. Bursting. Sweet and tart. 9.4 to 9.5 overnight. — a year ago

This was a surprise. The body was lighter than I expected, the nose practically busting with forest floor and dusty ripe red fruits, dusty tannins, but for this meal it paired perfectly. Drank at Arnaud’s in New Orleans. #pinotforpresident — 4 years ago
Tart almost citrus on the nose, crisp, perky — 3 months ago
Nice SLB especially for the price. Still not singing on all cylinders, I felt, even with a lengthy decant. But expresses lots of deep red cherry pie type of fruit with solid earth and acid. Finish is maybe a smidge more muddled than I was hoping. Still a nice wine. — 3 months ago
Terrific nose with some framing oak that will blow off with air. Deep cherry, some dark red cherry, mineral, earth, spice and some florals. Huge palate impact with gorgeous fruit. Unreal fruit and buffered by very good acidity and a fine, slippery texture. Just terrific fruit clarity and precision with lovely spice that echoes on the finish. Some mint and menthol coming in on the nose but this needs more air. Will be back. Really wonderful finesse here as well. As this airs the fruit gets silkier and sweeter. 23 more and more reminding me of 19 once it gets proper aeration. — a year ago
Plum, blueberry, cherry, tropical fruits etc. lots of fruits. Minerally and acidic. Fresh. Jean-Jacques Confuron Cuvee Jeunesse Bourgogne Pinot Noir 2019 @1160, domaine -, 220629-220706 — 4 years ago

Nice HH budget Pinot bubbs with strong roasted apple and fresh citrus finishing with a nice creaminess! — 6 years ago
One of the best Girard 23’s. First time since April and it’s just as I remember. What a wine. Lush, giving cherry nose that just exudes purity and generousness. So inviting. Palate is lush and generous with unreal fruit. Black cherry, red cherry, blackberry. So dense, so explosive and fresh. Gorgeous, diamond cut tannins. Unreal wine. Wow. — 6 months ago

Really enjoying the generous, sensual, textured nature of this vintage and top producers really nailed it. — 2 years ago
Nose is lemon, some discreet wood. vanilla extract, lanolin and an intense stony minerality. Sweet lime as well and just stunning aromatic depth and vividness. 9.4 nose. Great cut and almost zero wood on palate and what is there is lovely and complementary to the awesome acidity and freshness. Really long. Such a mineral bomb. Long. Wow this really drinks well for $32? A great wine. — 3 years ago
Chilled this burgundy felt restrained, minimal, and one dimensional. As it opened up though, paired with a delicious bouillabaisse, escargot and the best foie gras I’ve ever had, thus started to really come into its own. Medium body, a refined minerality but with delicious notes of crisp apple, baking spice, and an some richer, pastry like notes on the finish, this wine truly came into its own with some warmth and time. Not too rich, not too dry, a perfect balance of crisp fruit, minerality, and baked richness for shellfish dishes with a tomato base. — 4 years ago

Perfect Savigny. So precise. Great precise cherry fruit. A hint of bitterness. Stunning acidity.
