A funky swervey champagne Rose’ of all Pinot (8% still juice) where all the fruit is contained within a burlap sack of barley husk and smoked peaches. Muted dried fruits - dried orange peel, dried rose petals, dried wild strawberry, celery seed, fennel, and Parmesan. Tart berries only on the finish. So awesomely unexpectedly savory. — 5 days ago
The label says to “uncork 3 to 4 hours before tasting” so I did. Pale garnet with rust on the edges, a little VA (not a bad thing) on the nose with cherries and roses. Delicate but not without structure. Red fruits, florals, licorice, dried herbs, touch of wild yeast, and a saline minerality that went great with this brined roasted bird — 21 days ago
Nose is singing. Gorgeous nose. Bright mid season cherries, sous bois, tea, even some marijuana, sour cherries, cranberry and such purity, minerality and depth. Such a soaring nose. Palate is gorgeous and deep with sappy sour cherries, a hit of opulence and good concentration but not overly concentrated. Sappy and so pure. Balance is out of this world. Incredible energy and so so engaging. Lovey mid palate that caresses but also prickles as well with buoyant acidity. Awesome inner mouth aromas that saturate the palate with fruit. Lovely velvety and gorgeously integrated tannins. This is drinking so well now but will surely age. Such a well made wine. Elegance, serious terroir and depth at this pricepoint is what Pernand 1er Crus do best. — 5 days ago
Tasted for potential. This is such a lovely example of Puligny 1er. Perfectly integrated oak and fruit, lovely acidity, fantastic density. So good. Yeah, right up there with the 09 Dancer Perrieres 1er, but stylistically the opposite end of the spectrum. — 4 days ago
Deep yellow colour, medium body, nice off-dry texture. Complex, fully mature aromas reminiscent of baked apple, with a caramel undertone, probably hitting its prime now, but still very vivid. Unusual but delightful. Very good.

Darker more complex nose than the Vergelesses. So good. Big ripe mid season cherry, so much sinewy earthy diet, spice and it smells more structured and concentrated. So complex. Just a symphony of Pernand. Complex and structured and more obviously young than the Les Vergelesses. So sappy and pure with a dark and bright cherry fruit profile at the same time. Long, sinewy, feral, spicey and complex. Amazing purity, depth, structure and concentration. So deep. This will age gorgeously for the next 10-15 years. — 5 days ago
First course. Vegetable soup that has a chicken broth/red wine/port base.
Also, working with 2nd course, pumpkin spaetzle with squash, brown butter, parmesan, sage & crispy brussels sprouts.
Beautiful poached strawberries & cherries with fresh & slightly candied, bright dark & red florals.
Great soup & spaetzle from our friend Chef Hedy! Find her @plateandbottle
